"I am incredibly disappointed by my experience with the JCC (Jewish Community Center) regarding their summer camp registration process. I filled out the registration form, ensuring that my child would have a spot, only to be informed later that they were unable to accommodate my child, despite my prior inquiries and reassurances. Furthermore, the JCC has withheld my $600 deposit, leaving me feeling betrayed and deceived. Before registering my child for the summer camp, I took the initiative to call the JCC multiple times to confirm their availability and secure a spot. I wanted to ensure a smooth process and provide my child with a fulfilling summer experience. However, despite my efforts, it became evident that the JCC had failed to properly manage their enrollment and space allocation. What adds insult to injury is the fact that the JCC has held onto my $600 deposit without issuing a refund. This action demonstrates a severe lack of integrity and fairness on their part. As someone who was raised with the belief that stealing is wrong, I am deeply troubled by the JCC's decision to keep funds that were entrusted to them, especially from members of the same Jewish community. It is disheartening to see an organization associated with Jewish values and community involvement disregard the principles set forth in the Ten Commandments, including the commandment against stealing. I expected the JCC to adhere to high ethical standards and treat their members with respect and fairness. Unfortunately, my experience with them has been quite the opposite. The mishandling of my child's summer camp registration, coupled with the refusal to refund my deposit, has left me with a sense of betrayal and a lack of trust in the JCC. It is unacceptable for an organization to make promises they cannot fulfill and then withhold funds from individuals who have placed their trust in them. In conclusion, I regretfully express my dissatisfaction with the JCC's unprofessionalism and failure to ensure a spot for my child in their summer camp program, despite my diligent efforts to secure one. Their decision to withhold my deposit further amplifies my disappointment and raises serious concerns about their integrity and adherence to ethical principles. As a member of the Jewish community, I expected better from the JCC, and I hope that they will rectify this situation promptly and uphold the values they claim to represent."
