"Hi i am a 6th grade student here for 2017 - 2018 in 632 first of all mr marsh should stay in his lane because he is not a dean. But dean davis is awesome but parents do not be fooled by the staff here. This school is dirty and there are fights like 5 times a month also the teachers make fun of some kids saying cuss words and they also make us do to much projects that they dont grade so its a waste of time this place is literally rated 3.3 dont be fooled ."
"Is109 is an mediocre place. There's an occasional fight in the halls, like any other school. The halls are always crowed. The teachers are pretty nice, however there's some strict ones. However, all of the want the best for their students. Even if some students are misbehaviors. The school is overall okay. I've noticed it takes forever to get a lunch. But the activities planned out are always fun! Especially dances planned out by Mrs.Hayes, an strict but great dean. Who only tolerates obedience. The track is large, and the gyms could be bigger. Especially the Girl's gym. Overall Is109 is an good school to send your child to."
"For people that saying “dean Hayes is terrible” she actually is not. She maybe strict because she wants the best for her students & whenever her students work hard she rewards them. Last week her students went to Massachusetts & Maryland that same week for free!! There not fights all the time. Only once in a while I’m not going to lie about that."
"Honestly, the school itself is great or in other words the building , and thats about it. The staff, the technology, the teachers, the standards are out dated and need improvement. They are teaching integrated algebra, which is a old corse that was replaced by Algebra 1. They also lack a Spanish proficiency test which could have been a very important boost in high school. The course material honestly is so old, and the papers/keynote lack something to get students interested. This also connects to the idea of the school lacking funds, because it itself is not doing good compared to other middle schools in the area."
"When my daughter first started in the school, I did not know what all the fuss was about. I had heard so many people say it was such a bad school and not to send my daughter. But I was told the staff was changed and the school was changing. I will start off by saying this. The kids really weren't that bad. I didn't see much more then what you would see at most schools. Although they do have a bully issue in the school, if the staff was more attentive that probably wouldn't be the case. Oh the staff!! Don't get me wrong some of the teachers are amazing. I have a few favorites I have come to love. But over the 3 years my daughter has been there, all I have seen that is consistent is how utterly unorganized the school is. The right hand never knows what the left hand is doing. The teachers are half with you and half out the door. The entire staff will say one thing and do another. The only way I am able to get real answers is when I am actually up at the school having a face to face conversation. Every event they have going on is so unorganized. every trip there is an issue. Or it gets cancelled. The automated system calls our house at 730 & 8 am to tell us things that have nothing to do with us. They also call at 10 pm to remind us about tests but my whole house is in bed by 9 930 the latest so it literally wakes the whole house up. I have complained several times about this but it doesn't help.I am so happy for her to finally be out of that school this year and into a place that actually takes pride in what they are doing. Because it is so relevant that almost all the staff doesn't in this place. And the kids see it, everyday!! They hear the gossip they see the mess. I know more about the staffs social life than I do about when the parent teacher conferences are because you don't find out about them until the day before!!!!!!! How this school runs is a huge question to me."
