Reviews of Richmond Hill High School
"Attended this school from 2009-2013 fights almost everyday. Staff members didn't give a damn about No one but their paychecks. Some Teachers never taught in class. I remember when I was there one of the teachers hated me for no reason and always failed me I did all the homework and projects they assigned to the class and still failed me idk why but I reported her for that. Anyway I dropped out in 2013 and went to Thomas Jefferson yabc in East new York the people over there really did cared about you and your education."
"I went there from 2008-2012. Toward the ending part of my high school career the school started to improve. However, it was still very disorganized and the staff was all over the place. Hoodlums did not attend class but showed up for the last marking period everyday and got a 65 and graduated. Not fair to those of us who worked hard to graduate. The school needs to be stricter about grading policies and make it difficult for kids to pass so easily. Anyway, let me talk about the people there. I was in the Law Program, which was incredibly beneficial. Also I heard the Business Enterprises program was really good. Choose one of those two for your program and you will be fine. You will have hard workers in your classes and not slackers. Avoid the other programs because that is where the slackers apply in order to pass with minimal effort and to cause trouble. Overall, this school is O.K in my book."
"During my four years in this high school from 2011-2015 I've had fair amount of personal complaints. A lot of fights, security staff were rude to the students as for the teachers themselves they were alright not so bad but not fantastic either. It seemed as though most of them just teached to teach they didn't go out of their way to have connections with their students. And sometimes passed their students so the graduation rate would rise since they have a horrible reputation in that. They do have programs and clubs but most kids don't seem to care about them or seem to get involved it's like a small percentage of the alumni."
"This was a really good school if you kept to yourself. I had a couple good teachers here that made an impact. Around the time that I started attending this school, metal detectors were being used to scan kids entering the building. I came from a previous school with a similar policy. I never liked it. It sets up an environment that breeds criminal activity. Soon after I graduated, this school would be in the news constantly for everything that was wrong with society. From inappropriate student-teacher relationships to gang activity."
"The staff at this school dont do their jobs. They dont pick up the phone nor return your calls. Student get a 100% opportunity to walk out of the school during school hours and able to enter back. Security guards doesnt know much about the faculties when asked they gave you direstions to the office. No one cares if your kid is absent from classes or school. The parents are not notify. Worst school to choose for your kids. They are better off to another school."
