"Good morning. My name is Nicholas. Friday, January 12th around 4pm I came out of the train station where I live on 67th Avenue and I found a child school id, school metro card and I believe his house keys . His name Is Alvin Cao and since I found it , I feel it is only right that I return it personally just to make sure it gets back to him in a timely manner."
"Their are kids who vape and smoke in this school, the bullying is insane. The teachers and staffs are very nice but the kids that come to Russel Sage are not very well disciplined."
"I'm a retired NYPD cop. Immigrating from South Korea,I had attended Russell Sage in 1991. The teachers there taught me not just English language, but culture and value as well. I still very much remember and appreciate the teachers. They had provided essential education in such a pivotal years in my life."
"I have gone to Russell Sage for a year and my friends are going there right now. The school has many problems, which I will get into. The teaching performance is very poor. The teachers don’t explain properly and when you ask questions, they either don’t really answer properly or ignore it. Their lesson planning is poor since the notes I have had to take are very long that I filled around 5 pages in one day. These notes were on slides in a specific color so everyone had to copy all of that and couldn’t abbreviate it. There’s also a problem with disciplines. Many schools have this problem, however, this school takes it to a whole other level. They don’t care if someone hits somebody else or starts fighting. They only care as long as a parent reports it or something of the sort. My classmate brought a scalpel to school, which the school had no idea, and nobody reported the situation. The dean when she is dealing with these cases doesn’t not take the proper actions. For example, when she called me down to her office because another friend’s mom reported us for making a joke about hitting her because she got a better grade. She immediately screamed at us and assumed that was why we made that joke. She sent us to one guidance session that lasted around 10 minutes. The person in charge didn’t ask proper questions but just ignored us when we told them why we joked about that and assumed it was about grades. After that I’ve never gotten any other sessions and was let off the hook. My last point is that the school has a history of drugs. If you check other reviews that are pretty old, you see them mention drugs. While it isn’t as bad now, drugs are still used. My friend has classmates that vape and they haven’t been caught. She did report it to one of her teachers, but nothing has been solved or heard. Though I can’t speak on the matter because I haven’t participated or heard too much about this."
