Reviews
"Everyone who hates the school just falls into drama with other students or just don't like school at all. Most reviews are not valid. There are few somewhat troublesome teachers and I got along with everyone. This is loads more than I can say about my previous schools. I noticed a dramatic change in my social skills and work quality. I really needed the experience I had here. Unfortunately, there are less classes than most high schools as WJPS is 6-12 and shares a building with a much larger 6-8 school, I.S. 25."
"I don't know why everyone is rating this school bad. The only issue I've had was that there are little to no sports teams. That being said, high schoolers can easily join Francis Lewis teams. The school is literally only 12 years old, so of course it has some flaws. However, the school is revolutionizing itself by adding new clubs, new systems, etc. I've learned a lot from being here."
"I have a child that has been in WJPS since the 6th grade. She came into the school with very poor grades and very high anxiety. The amount of help that was given to her throughout the years (She is currently in the 8th grade) both academically and also personal has been tremendous. My daughter has an IEP and gets the help she needs when she needs it. The teachers are always available for help and the Staff is wonderful. I am very involved with the school being the President of the PTA for the past 3 years. I see first hand how the school is run. Yes, it is a uniform school but the uniform consists of a WJPS T-Shirt and Khaki or Navy blue pants and for gym, WJPS Shorts with a WJPS T-Shirt. It's not drastic. The Principal and 2 Assistant Principals are always visible in the hallway.Yes, this is a middle school/High School and we do not have any sports but our school is paired with Francis Lewis High School. Our students are always able to tryout for sports. I have never heard of any issues with bathroom, lockers and detentions unless the student bring that issue on themselves. My recommendation is, if your child needs a small school setting, this this is the school for your child."
"Had the best time of my life here, a small school allowing you to make friends easier. Great teachers, good school spirit, and a solid education. Everyone from the staff treats you as family, defeintely wish I could go back.Only issue is lack of sport teams."
"disgusting school that sets you up for failure. Don't even think of putting your child here it's the worst and they'll hate themselves and everyone else. uniform is nasty, they treat you as if you're 2, and they don't even teach. the teachers act like kids and argue with the students as if they're teenagers and there are no sports team for the school. if you love your kid don't put them here(:"
