Achievement First Aspire Middle School

Achievement First Aspire Middle School is a public charter school located in Brooklyn, New York, at 970 Vermont Street. The school, which opened in August 2017, serves students in grades 5-8 and currently has 346 students. The school is conveniently located near the 3 train (Pennsylvania Ave.), L train (New Lots Ave.), and B6 and B20 bus line stops, making it easily accessible for students.

Achievement First Aspire Middle School provides bus transportation for all students within a range of .5 miles to 5 miles. Families also have the option to utilize a paid van service or request MetroCards for transportation on weekdays before and after school. The school hours are from 7:40 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 7:40 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Fridays.

In addition to core academic subjects, Achievement First Aspire Middle School offers enrichment classes in Art, Film, and Physical Education. Students also participate in extracurricular activities, including extended expeditions in the community every eight weeks, culminating in an exhibition or performance to showcase what they have learned.

The school is led by interim principal Shailah Phillips, and the mission of Achievement First Aspire Middle School is to provide equal educational opportunities for all students. The school prides itself on creating a safe and enriching learning environment for families in the New Lots neighborhood and throughout Brooklyn.
