Reviews of Channel View School for Research
"I was a student at Channel View High School from 6th grade till 12th, and in the beginning, (of my School career) there I was a student ready to learn. Ready to take on, and overcome the challenges of life. In the effort to become a better and more successful student, and person. At the time I was amazed by this school's policy and basic standards. It was a title 1 school And had a 96% graduation rate. But on my entrance I was appalled by the lack of ethic, or responsibility of the teachers and students. It never seemed like the school it was cranked up to be. The students were Rude, Disrespectful, and would often cause fights in the halls of the school, along with just outside, surrounding the campus. The school is Deplorable in the cleaning and maintenance of itself, drug use and gang activities plagued the halls, and the teachers cared very little about how anyone was learning. My School experience there was dreadful, and when you get to High School the title fades and becomes a husk of what it seems to be. The High School areas are even worse, The bathrooms were filthy, and the school lunch was horrible. Those facts alone would drive anyone able to go somewhere else to do so. But the main point is this school depresses your expectations, and locks your mind in an inescapable box. I never learned anything more than standard Sh*tty school lessons and all classes seemed to be using terrible busywork To make up for a lack of lessons. In total, this School is the titanic. "Promising Alot, but still sunken to the seafloor" Parents! Listen! Do not send your kids here. No matter how nice the parent coordinator makes it seem. Or they will become destined for a life of low esteem forever."
"In my opinion this school was not that great. I struggled for two years, and felt that I was not processing the lesson as fast as other kids, and as a result, my grades was not all that. The teachers are nice and caring, however, a few of the science teacher's are not that great. Majority of the students are rude, but their are some who are exceptionally kind; like that individual who returned my pencil case with money. Overall, my experience at (C.V.S.R) was great."
"I use to go here. It's more of a nostalgia shock than anything. I would really like to leave a good review, but I'll leave an honest one instead. This school prepares you for life, not in the good way, but in the way that reminds you, that you're on your own and things are not always what it seems. It keeps your expectations realistic, and reminds you that you should always make the best of what you're given. The teachers that I went to school with left lasting impressions on me, and it was for the better. -Class of 2010 class 212 -Bradley Jones."
"It's a nice school when it comes to the character of students and the environment. However academically it could be better. We could be challenged with fun a little more. I want more for my education, so please challenge us or I might have to transfer."
"Yo it's so good, so good. If you do their breast cancer walk only a couple of blocks, you get 5 hours of community service. Also we get mad learning time and the principal is very nice. Also you will get channel view t shirts. If you meet a teacher in that school named m.s mannion, she is the funnest teacher ever. About the uniform policy, you wear navy blue pants, a white button down shirt, a navy blue tie and solid black shoes. Your shoes can't have any color in it. Never. You will see alot of programs. Omg. They are so great please go there."
