"This school is decent, but can honestly do better. The teachers are all very accommodating, very approachable, kind, and considerate: The only problem is the current principal. Ms. Nguyen's ways are honestly very condescending to students that we can't understand how she works. Almost like she's very settled on being old-fashioned. It's not right to look down on students who don't naturally have excellent grades or attendance: Mind you, mental health, financial + family issues...etc do impact students in other ways they can't explain. Another thing is, yes, modesty is important, especially in an educational setting. One problem is, that New York City experiences heat waves, and naturally, students use clothing as an expression too. Wearing something "revealing" like a basic tube/tank top doesn't distract boys from their education. Instead, YOU are distracting the girls from their education by taking the time of your day to call them out. Cover up? the heat is distracting them enough. The male classmates and male teachers could honestly care less, they don't have a problem with it. Stop pressuring dress codes on children. It's not a big deal. It's also true that she has favorites, and it's so obvious. She actually cares more about the school's reputation than the well-being of the people. The seniors have jobs, doing college programs, seminars, tutoring, after-school activities, and deciding on their applications. It's kind of necessary that these students who have these extracurriculars, should leave after 6th period. All of a sudden, they can't leave in the 7th period, why? because she doesn't want students roaming around? has she ever thought of their mental health? they are already tired enough. There's a massive difference between wanting students to strive for their best and wanting students to reach their limits."
