"Family Life Academy Charter School’s middle school is an amazing place where communication, understanding, compassion, and love abound. There is safety, rigorous academics, and an organized beautiful space for young scholars to learn. When I say safety I mean that there is a system in place to keep students safe. For example visitors cannot pass the second door which is locked without communicating with security officers. There are cameras recording outside the building and in other areas. The students must use their ID to get in and the information about whether they are absent is communicated to parents by the morning via their parent portal. The parent portal has proved to be a very easy and reliable way to communicate with teachers and staff. Email also works well. Even report cards can be sent through the parent portal as well as school announcements and messages. I am content with their curriculum. Lastly, the space itself is an organized and aesthetically pleasing space that the young people in the Bronx deserve to have. As for the staff and teachers, they are communicative, friendly, and compassionate. It seems that they also have good rapport with their students. They have always treated me as a parent with respect and consideration. Special love to Ms. Urbaez, one of the parent coordinators! She’s so genuine and caring and just phenomenal! My children have been in the FLACS family since Kindergarten and I wouldn’t have it any other way!"
