Reviews of J.H.S. 259 William McKinley
"if i could rate it a 0 i would, i use to go here and i don’t get why some teachers are so rude for no reason. Also i had very high grades but never got into a honor class which is shocking because people with lower grades got into honors. They don’t allow phones during lunch which i don’t know why because it doesn’t even affect the staff or anybody for students going on their phone.A dean once screamed in my face and honestly that was so unprofessional of them. Please teach some staff manners lmao."
"Junior McKinley259 is NOT a good school they don’t care about you, they fired all the teachers that kids love they took Miss Salma away from us and know they are taking Miss Madison away from us cus they are jealous that not a lot of kids are going to guidance and the deens when the deens don’t help the children and don’t comfort them they start more drama unlike miss Madison, they fired her when she was the best school assistant ever I’m making sure none of my family to go there."
"I personally think you shouldnt send your child, or anyone you know to this school. apparently "There's no such thing as self defense"? Are you serious? Then what are we suppose to do when we get beat up? Stay there until you get beaten up half to death then you tell the teacher? Its too late for that after getting beaten up half to death. Some people, whose grades are at least 90-95 doesnt get put into an honors class. being in the same exact last two digits for the past 3 years. People have been getting so mad about the class things. Though some teachers are just pure lazy or just have anger issues. I love Ms Noto and Ms Urena though, they're the best. Sports during lunch. They dont allow sports during lunch periods anymore. football, soccer, volleyball, etc. they dont allow volleyballs, but they allow basketballs. Doesnt make sense to me, but they dont allow anything else besides basketball and handball. There's now a girls basketball team this year (2023-2024 season). On the bright side, there's plently of nice teachers in the school. (if you stay on their good side.) there's a lot of clubs afterschool like sports art and help if anyone needs it. You can choose to eat in the school yard, or in the cafeteria."
"i was in honors this year and it was the absolute worst. this kid touched a girl inappropriately and only received 2 days of suspension (it was supposed to be a week.) the amount of racism and bigotry was shocking, the words that came out of people’s mouths were insane. also the “no self-defense” policy is so weird? like if i’m being beat up i cant do anything? the deans don't do anything and it’s like a war zone during passing periods. some (honors) teachers just sit and their desk and make us do work without teaching us?? tl;dr, racism, bad deans, little punishment, and bad teachers. so glad im leaving for next year."
"had a kid in my year who inappropriately touched someone, only got 2 days suspension. same kid is still in honors. self defense doesn’t exist, and there’s tons of racism and overall bigotry. there’s maybe 2 teachers who enjoy their job— save yourself and don’t go."
