Reviews of St. Raymond Elementary School
"love this school nice. has a nice basketball team( girls and boys, grades 3-4 and 5-6 and 7-8) Teachers are nice. organised, with this virus they are be social distance and follow the rules to be able to open the school correctly. All these bad reviews are wrong if they were true there were true they are from a long time ago. Now the school is very good. Best school in the Bronx"
"Honestly, I went to this school beginning in first grade. I graduated from there in 8th grade. From my experience the teachers are horrible. Most of them just speak and have conversations outside of the classrooms with other teachers. Most of the time, many students hear the teachers either speaking about them or even another student. Most teachers dont know how to respect a students personal information or even private events. The vice principal, Mrs. D’Arco; Is a horrible vice principal. She calls her bipolar reactions “discipline.” In my opinion, she’s disrespecting the students around her. Once, I threw food in the trash and the juice from it got on the floor and tables. She yelled full out burst to tell me to clean it up. I told her I was going to ask for paper but she did not believe me. The teachers in this school always look on their side but not the students. Another topic I want to speak on, the principal. The principal, Mr. Scanlan is NEVER in school. He’s always absent and if he’s ever in school, he’s never in his office either. He’s never available for students either. The teachers are very bias, such as, always choosing their favorite students or even just choosing FEMALES in particular. Most of the teachers in middle school, usually “flirt” or get into really suspicious “friendships,” I’ve noticed this myself as a use to be student. I really DISGUST the way this school takes place. The teachers are unorganized and rude. The tuition is very expensive. They give TOO MUCH homework. These teachers act like if we don't have a home to go to, like if we don't have nothing else important. Most of the kids in school work so hard that they truly become lonely during school because of the judgement. Now moving on to the students. Most of the students in this school are either, Caucasian, black, or even Hispanic. Most of the students love to bully one another, the teachers don’t do nothing based on that topic. Most students NOT ALL don't get in trouble for half the things that they do which is completely annoying. When I went to this school, I was bullied in the beginning of my school years. I went to my mother CRYING and said I’m being bullied in school. We had a meeting and I stated the kids names. Neither did my mother or the other kids parents have a meeting to discuss what was going on. The principal was not included either. Another of my experiences with this school was a problem I had with a teacher. I wont share her name for many privacy reasons based on myself. Many other kids came to her saying I was speaking about her family disrespectfully, in which I didn't even know who she was at the time. I got in trouble and I told my mother what had happened, we had a meeting discussing what happened and we spoke about how so unprofessional she talked about the situation. Also, how she yelled at me for assuming that I was speaking about her family. After a while, a lot of other parents complained about her and she got demoted. But in my opinion I believe she should get In way more trouble and should be fired. I don't recommend this school AT ALL. Neither is it even worth it to enroll your child in this hell of a place. 0/10."
"The most worst school in the Bronx. I promise this, I’ve been in that school since first grade ~ eighth grade. The teachers are very rude, judge mental, and have a lot of favoritism! Some teachers teach the kids like animals, sometimes try to find the best excuse to call home and get a child in trouble. Mr.Scanlon is not the best principle, Ms.De’Arco is very rude and has a lot of favoritism! I do not care what others think. This is MY OPINION, and I believe people shouldn’t choose to enroll their child in this school!"
"I like this school because I’ve met a lot of my closest friends here and I’ve learned a lot from here. The bad thing about his school is sometimes the teachers can be biased towards girls. They put more trust in girls than boys. But I still love this school."
"St.Raymond's is a great school. The kids are treated with respect and they also have a lot of fun here. I met my closest friends here and I will always remember the amazing teachers I had through the years."
