Reviews of P.S. 021 Philip H. Sheridan
"In this ps21 school there are many in regularities when a teacher fails to give classes the children distribute them in different classes and they sit on the floor and they put it to paint and they also put it as absent, they do not give the assignments that day. , children like that can not learn, in particular there is a teacher who has personal problems and almost never presents that is not fair for the students the school. DO NOT have a substitute teacher and if this does not change you have to submit a complaint to the education department. This should not continue like this"
"My elementary school, I miss this school. So many good memories. This school is where I met my two best friends and we still talk and see each other to this day. I wish I was little all over again so I can come back and have fun with everyone. Everyday at this school was the best day of my life. My favorite teachers were Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Crosswell and Mrs. Bonacci."
"If I could leave "LESS THAN HALF A STAR" I would. My 1st grade child has continuously been sent home with NO BOOK/S !!! Not even a copy of class work reading material is sent home for my child to read for homework.I have to improvise with other ideas in order give my child reading lessons/homework. I have REPEATEDLY asked for information for the location where the teachers buy their/her books in order to personally purchase them and prepare my child for the weekly homework log material. NO ONE CAN HELP!! The MATH HOMEWORK is pathetically and redundantly atrocious. A single "LEGAL SIZED" sheet page is TOTALLY wasted. Can anyone imagine how the city/school can put "A TOTAL SUM" of 7-9 math questions (4 on the front, 5 on the back) on ONE SHEET!?? Barnes and noble books have 25 -40 questions on each side!! I WOULD NOT SEND MY WORST ENEMY TO THIS SCHOOL!!! IT IS A SET UP FOR FAILURE!! I PERSONALLY BELIEVE THIS SCHOOL IS PREPARING OUR BRONX CHILDREN FOR "THE PRISON INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX!!! BEHOLD..BE WARNED!"
"This is the best Public School I've ever being at very responsible with our children and carrying. My daughter graduated from it 2011 and still loves the school."
"A different experience... I didn't attend this school but I did come here on Friday evenings for almost a year in 1968 to participate in what was "The American Bluejackets" marching band, playing the field snare. An organization that patterned themselves after the U.S. Navy....similar to the "Sea Cadets." This school was designated "Wakefield Station." It was fun participating in drills, parades and field trips. I remember we would always leave early from Jackson Avenue on the no. 2 to hit the pizza shop that was across the street from the school. There was also a record shop a couple of doors over that always played the current dance/soul music of the day, music blaring from one of those ol skool "shoe box" speakers outside hung by a nail and string. One of our friends moved just up the street in 69'. We came there to visit the same year and haven't been back since. I just saw an episode of "Parts Unknown" with Anthony Bourdain about the Bronx and had to Google the location referencing a Caribbean restaurant on 223rd street. Just reminiscing about the old days y'all. ^5"
