"Don't risk going... its not worth it. My kid would come home every day and listen to some weird, I quote "Sad Boy hours""
"The teachers rely on homework for teaching and don't know how to communicate with students responsibly. There was one occurrence where a teacher outright verbally attacked a student. They had agreed to help setup a learning plan to help in case the work got too easy for my child and they outright denied any discussion even after more than a year they had been in the school. For a school meant for children with disabilities they were a massive disappointment for me and my kid."
"The Norman Howard School creates a clear path for success for children with learning differences. My son struggled so much and our school district wrote him off as unable to progress and then we found the Norman Howard School and it was nothing short of a miracle. Here at the NHS students find the individual help they need to progress successfully at their own pace. They also are encouraged to join the many clubs and extra curricular actives that are offered. The NHS also has a parent association and many family friendly activities throughout the year to engage the whole family. My personal testimony of the Norman Howard School is that it changed my son's life and put him on a path to success. My son with the help and support of the staff at the NHS was even able to earn his Eagle Scout. The staff helped him with merit badges and helped him fill out the merit badge books and every staff member went above and beyond to help my son succeed. I wish that there was more than one Norman Howard School so every child with a learning difference could be put on that path to success."
"What a difference 5 years can make in the educational aspect of your child's life. It's not that our son's public school didn't try or didn't care, he just doesn't learn like other's learn. He would come home everyday frustrated and upset, when we finally got him into Norman Howard school for 5th grade he was like a totally different kid. Are there still challenges? Yes, but now we are in a school who "gets" him they understand his learning style, they know him, and they are invaluable!! As he soon will enter grade 11 we are constantly amazed, at Norman Howard's commitment to Taegan's future, not just at the school, but going forward onto college and the workforce. Thank you to all teacher's and support staff, you truly make a difference in the lives of our learner's!!! If you are considering a different place for your child, check out this school, you won't be sorry!! The Evert family."
