"Have been working on Expert Excel certification at SUNY’s Advanced Technology and Information Networking (ATTAIN) labs. The teaching materials such as GMetrix (which you can access remotely) are excellent and the support from Barb and Sam who manage the lab is consistently outstanding. Better yet, it’s all free!"
"I began to try to register with the Google IT specialist course that is set to start this coming up Monday, January 16, 2024. I went through the entire process of taking the TABE test, And was told at that time that I would hear something about a week later. I heard nothing until January 11, only after multiple multiple attempts to call them and get information. They finally sent me a schedule that included all of my login information and password for the different programs, when I tried to use them, nothing worked. I called the IT helpdesk, and they told me that “ You can’t login until you pay the fee”. Nobody had told me anything about any fees, and the IT specialist I spoke with nothing about how much the fee would be. They just keep information to themselves until the very last minute I guess, this is completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and absolute robbery that they do it this way. There are poor people that are trying to work and create other opportunities for themselves, and this is supposed to be something that’s supposed to help, it’s a lie. This is just another institution of robbery. Online it states that REOC has Saturday hours, and that they were open, but when I tried to call, they were closed. No surprise there. I don’t recommend anybody go to this or even bother with it. At this point, I’m about ready to throw my hands up and say the hell with it."
"Beautiful Building. ESL is my financial institution is in the same building. Always felt Welcome from everyone there."
"I had a wonderful experience at REOC back in 1998. It's like any other program - you get out of it what you put into it. I was hired by my internship site to start the Monday after school ended. It was the beginning of having a career versus working a job. The teachers I had were wonderful. Ms. Shaw and the typing teacher, first name Mildred I think, I don't remember her last name, were patient , kind and understanding. I would recommend anyone seriously looking for a good opportunity to start a career versus working a job to consider REOC."
"I wouldn’t recommend to anyone trying to better their lives. They promise you a job at the end of your course and then claim that there are no jobs available. The teachers use their time to threaten you and accuse you of talking, not paying attention or just deviant behavior while you sit their silently and then all faculty staff say “well it’s a free program” they also threaten to remove you from class and tell you to “get out” if you have questions or you bring up things that you’ve learned before that challenge what they’re teaching and ask for clarification. There was a teacher who would actively blame me for the things the girl next to me did. If she was speaking in class, eating or even sleeping she would accuse me of being the one talking or the one that was influencing this grown girl to behave the way she did. While I sat there quietly and did my work. Don’t do it if you have anxiety or depression cause this place will push you to kill yourself having to survive here. They also remind you that you’re a charity case that they have blessed with the right to attend to school."
