Reviews
"As an immigrant family from New York City, my parents were afraid we children would not be accepted by the local kids. The language barrier was not a huge obstacle, but we did struggle to find our places in the student body. The teachers seemed very tolerant of our special needs, and did what they were mandated to, to make us feel welcome. I learned to read English, recite the Pledge of Allegiance! We never had any personal items stolen although some kids lost bicycles from the bike racks. There was plenty of chalk and materials for arts and crafts. The highlight each year was the class trips by Long Island Rail Road into New York City to visit the museums, and the 1964 Worlds Fair!"
"This last review is obviously a joke by someone because I have lived in Massapequa for over 40 years. My children all went to Unqua School and now my grandchildren go there. My children and grandchildren love this school. The teachers are great and they have many extra programs for the kids to enjoy. I wish when I was a child I had the opportunity to go to Unqua."
"A terrible school. Should be taken over by the state or just shut down. Bullying is not dealt with, the facilities are falling apart, and the administration is mostly incompetent. If you are looking for a house in the area make sure it's in the much better Amityville School District. Massapequa Public Schools are horrible."
