"The worst experience I’ve ever had at any school. My 4 year old son, who has a speech delay, went to Honeydew Drop for the 3K program from the DOE program. When the school year was over, he stayed at Honeydew for summer camp program, since some of his friends were still there and he is familiar with teachers and the location. After 3 weeks of summer camp they notified me via email that are expelling my 4 year old from the program and gave me one week's notice. They spoke extremely negatively about my child. I was honestly shocked. My son is not a delinquent child, he is just a normal 4 year old boy with a speech delay, he is not a perfect child but he is not a problematic child. In fact, for his evaluation from DOE, both speech and cognitive therapists and his own teachers from 3K, they all described him as a loving and kind child. I realize that due to his speech delay he is unable to express himself and I understand some tasks may be difficult for him, but that doesn’t make him a problematic child. They also told me they have 14 children under the age of 4 years old for 2 teachers in summer camp and the teachers are not trained to deal with him. So basically they are overcrowded, understaffed and unprepared. I am writing this review because I wanted to warn other parents who you are looking for a new school for your child, just like I would like to be warned about this school. I understand some parents may have had a good experience with them but I did not and this is my own experience. And, Of course the School may want to reply to my review and say anything they can to protect their image and honestly I am not going to argue back to whatever they will say because it will just be a waste of time and energy. I truly Hope you find a good school for your child and never experience what I did. Best wishes"
"Our sons have both been at Honeydew since they were infants. Our oldest son just graduated 3K at Nook and attended Safari when he was 2. They have had wonderful experiences. We adore all of the teachers and trust them without hesitation. They are loving, patient and communicative. Honeydew also has a wonderful educational and emotional development program and has supported us as parents as we help our children grow. We would recommend Honeydew to any parent considering daycare, 3K or UPK."
"Our son started at Honeydew Nook when he was 6 months old, and we've had a great experience. The teachers are amazing, and our son is always happy to see them in the morning and when we pick him up at the end of the day. He has grown a lot in their care and we are glad he is there!"
"Our son attending Honeydew for 5 months before we moved from Brooklyn, starting from when he was 10 months old. Leaving Honeydew was the most difficult part of our move. The teachers were great - very caring and communicative with us. Our son was happy to arrive every morning and left with a smile each day. Even during the pandemic, we felt very comfortable with our son there each day. I couldn't recommend them enough."
"We had a great experience with Honeydew Nook. After being locked down and away from other children her own age for many months, we made the tough decision to enroll our daughter in daycare in the fall of 2020. It was the best decision for our family. Our daughter was in a very small class at Nook, which was exactly what she needed to transition to a school setting. The teachers were patient, warm, and loving, especially because this was a big change for her. We saw her grow and blossom very quickly. They have taken and continue to take Covid-19 safety very seriously, so that has given us peace of mind. She has since moved to a new class room at another Honeydew location with older children, and we are so happy to still be a part of the Honeydew family."
