"As the parent of ps 169's student , me and my son both had great experiences at school, and since I worked at school as the president of PTA, even just for two months , but I still learned a lot such as how to communicate well and how to make the some special events successful between the parents with the teachers and the school stuffs . The new principal Mrs. Jeala Kim who made the school administration more clear and more effective , the school's new website help all the parents could understand more easier about things going on , school had make a lot of improvements not only let all students feel more comfortable, more safety to study , but also provided a lot of opportunities and activities which most parents could learn together, work together as volunteers . From principal, vice principals, school secretary to the parent's coordinator, I met most of the school stuffs when I stay with PTA . They're all pay attention and very friendly to all the parents when they in need of any kind of help , so hopefully everyone in school could keep work together as well as right now ! (Should include the all the parents )"
"I'm so upset to see my school change so much. Just by speaking to many in the neighbor it appears the school faculty has not inspired positive change and causing cultural conflicts. My review is based on interviews of local residents. School yard use to be filled with children playing at recess and now crowded with containers to accommodate overflow population. Seems too packed."
"Trying to get your child into a kindergarten has to be the worst process. The front desk staff is not even telling me the number my child is in, which is not acceptable because they are supposed to tell you what number they are listed in. They claim to say they are not sure. After seeing these comments about the teachers, school, the principle not being eligible to be a principle i doubt i will want my child to get into a school like this one because it all starts on education and if the teachers are not able to educate the children the proper way then this school should not even be open. #NEEDANEWPRINCIPAL #NEEDNEWSTAFF"
"Graduated from here and lived close by for a good chunk of my life. I had great memories from this school and its faculties. My primary teacher, Ms.Leung was extremely nice and so was her assistant Ms.Wong or Huang. I still recall precisely how Ms.Leung was in tears when we weren't behaving well. We ended up apologizing and feeling greatly ashamed. That part of the education stuck with me while I was growing up and shaped who I am today. It's also worth noting that American education only goes as far as text book guidelines rather than having a more sensible approach by the teachers. I read about the controversial changes implemented by the new principal through the local news. I was shocked and thought most of them were redundant. I understand the logic behind the change but this is America and people should bend to learn its culture and origin and not bending them to better accomodate the immigrants. Pledge of Allegiance is a joke. It was a Cold War product which should be completely abandoned. If you recite the entire Pledge of Alligiance and constantly reminding yourself that you are in 2016, you will find it rediculous to be part of our educational system. As for my two favorite holidays, Thanksgiving and Chrismas, I think it's redundant to change the names just so the family of the students can better associate to the idea and value being presented. Thanksgiving and Chrismas represents a great deal of American value and there's no reason why a person coming to the US should learn a different version of it. However, it is up to them if they want to interpret them in a different way."
"I didn't actually graduate from PS169 but I studied there till forth grade and my class teacher was Mrs Maralyn Lopez and she was a really good teacher and a really jolly one too. I was supposed to study there my fifth grade under Mrs Baldino.I scored 770 marks in my state wide exam of mathematics just because of this school and I am most thankful to this school because who I am today is because of this school. You should remember me Mrs. Santiago and my big brother too remember Mohammad Farhan who got the highest marks in his fifth grade stste wide exam in 2004 or 2005.I really miss this school alot and whoever said this school sucked i'll beat him up.Thanks alot!"
