"I'm glad we switched to a daycare that didn't send home our toddler for every sniffle. A daycare that adeptly balanced the needs of individuals and community before and throughout the pandemic."
"My son's teacher was terrible. He is three years old and was with the younger kids. He got badly hurt within the second week of being there. My fiancé walked in on his teacher forcing one of the kid's to sleep. Shows no interest and always on her phone. We took him out immediately and is now in a better, cleaner and happier pre-school. I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone! I'm pretty sure the reviews on here are from their own staff. Such a shame that they have such young teachers with so little interest and experience. Just horrible."
"My son and daughter attended Sunset Park Children's School for a year and a half. They both loved it and came home excited to tell me what they did at school, the games they played and the art they created. The administration, Ms. Peggy and Ms. Millie, were always receptive to my calls and questions and my kids loved them so much that we would have to stop by the office at the end of each day to give hugs. The teachers in each classroom (and my kids were in all 4) were loving, kind and patient. My son had a bit of trouble adjusting to daycare as he started when he was 3, and his teachers would cuddle him, play with him and distract him until he smiled again. They also go outside to play every day which my kids loved! My kids only left it because we moved across the city and the commute became too much. Otherwise, we would have happily stayed until they both aged out. I can't say enough wonderful things about this school and the staff!"
"Wonderful school! Our son has been attending for over a year now. We recommend SPCS to others, and often. We feel like we really lucked out finding this diamond in the rough. It's affordable, has flexible hours/schedules for full and part time, great communication from all the warm and nurturing director & office manager & teachers, a great play & learn schedule tailored to each class/age group, and a clean and loving environment. You can really see the love of teaching and working with children from the caring staff. They are currently gearing up for the free Pre-K program, are licensed, all the employees are background checked and accredited. They take great precautions to clean, sanitize all surfaces and toys, and send home notices to parents/caregivers. They encourage parent/caregiver involvement, are gentle in discipline practices and resolutions, offer connections to developmental therapy services for children needing it, and care for your child with respect to how you do things at home. Now, I've read the older, less pleased review which seemed very nit-picky. If a pristine environment with no toys ever on the floor is your priority, you're kidding yourself. Active play gets messy at times, but they are a clean and organized school and are always tidying up. They DO offer flexible payment schedules as well as payment methods. I know that if someone had some real constructive criticism or needed a solution, the administration would be open to hearing it and working with someone who is unhappy to make that turn around. It's easy to complain on the internet, but perhaps harder for some to voice their concerns. My advice: GO SEE THIS SCHOOL AND MEET THE STAFF FOR YOURSELF! You'll definitely be glad you did :)"
