"As a parent, all we want is what is best for our children. For a couple of months now we have been uncertain of what could be the reason behind our daughters speech delay. Our daughter also receives Occupational Therapy though the speech delay is what has really concerned us over the past few years. We’ve had a couple of evaluations including one abroad, have been through 4 speech therapists and two occupational therapists and although we’ve taken steps in the right direction, the unknown has always been in the air. We waited close to a year for an evaluation with Dr. Durant and even though the anticipation leading up to the appointment for the past couple of months left me breathless, it was worth the wait! Dr. Durant is AMAZING! He is very attentive, understanding and puts you at ease. As it turns out, her delay is just a delay which isn’t uncommon among small children and certainly more common among “Pandemic kids”. The reason for our visit was to confirm or deny the possibility that she may have Autism. Dr. Durant was thorough, has an inviting personality and answered all of the questions I had for him. I recommend him 1,000%, today, tomorrow, forever and always. I understand that not every family may share a similar experience as it pertains to the reason they’re brought to Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics but I can only hope that regardless of what they’re told at the visit or on going visits, they can trust that their child or children are in great hands!"

"The front desk staffs are needed to be trained for customer service and scheduling. They are so rude and the office has poor management. I was there a day before my baby appointment and trying to reschedule since my baby had hand foot mouth disease but they didn't help me. I kept the appointment since we were waiting it for 10 months. The doctor canceled the appointment in appointment days and the office manager said that they will call back to me within a week or two weeks if someone cancel appointment. I called them last week and the front desk staff spoke to me with attitude based on her tone and voice. She said that I have to call them frequently to ask if someone cancels appointment. They don't want to take responsibility to call back to patients for appointment."

"This practice could use some training on good customer service, compassion + empathy. We drove 1.5 hours for an appointment + were late, due to no fault of our own. When we arrived, the parking lot was full + we had to wait for someone to leave to park. We rushed into the office + I attempted to check in. I was advised that I needed to check in at a different counter because my son's name wasn't on a "list." When I got to the other counter, the receptionist said she had recently returned from lunch + her computer wasn't up. I told her the appointment was at 1:00 PM, and she said, oh - it's 1:17, you'll have to reschedule. She advised there was a 15-minute "grace" period and we were too late. I asked that there please be an exception as we drove a long distance + both my husband and I were off work, and the timeslot for appointment was 40-45 minutes. + my child was almost out of medication. Receptionist checked with the provider (Shelby Brady) to see if we can still be seen. Provider stated no - to reschedule. Receptionist said, even if she had checked us in when I first got there - we were late, so it didn't matter + we'd have to reschedule. The Office Manager said the same thing about a 15-minute grace period. The appointment was for 40 minutes - if we had been checked in when we first arrived, we would have had over 20 minutes to see the provider. Those 40 minutes were reserved for us + it was a follow up appointment. I asked to see another provider + was advised they were booked. The Receptionist made the provider aware that we were there + needed to be seen. She refused to see us. After I called + filed a complaint with Novant Health Customer Service Team, the staff at this office updated the appointment to: Cancelled per the patient. I DID NOT CANCEL IT. We were refused service for a pediatric patient with behavioral/developmental challenges."
