"Anita Carroll did a comprehensive hearing assessment unlike any I had ever received. She was patient and calm; a very good listener. The hearing aids she recommended are very effective in multiple environments. Whether it's a Zoom meeting, telephone call or a book on Audible my hands are free for other tasks. Put them in first thing in the morning and forget about them . . . even once in the shower! I'm quite pleased."

"Yes, I Hear What You're Saying Don't take healthy hearing for granted! Hearing can decline slowly over a period of years. People get used to asking others to repeat themselves, to straining in restaurants or business meetings. Some people lose confidence in social situations because they don't hear correctly. Some stop doing things they love, like going to the movies or family gatherings. If this sounds like you, please find the best audiologist and schedule an appointment today. You'll be amazed to discover how much you are missing. The difference for me has been extraordinary. Last year while visiting a client in Costa Rica for a strategic retreat, I lost the ability to hear what was being said by the other participants. It was horrifying. I realized if I can't hear, I can't coach, facilitate workshops, be a speaker, or listen to music. I've been wearing hearing aids for nearly fifteen years, which has made an enormous difference in my life. Even so, my ability to hear continued to decline. When I came home from the trip, we scheduled an appointment at the Costco hearing center, where we bought the hearing aids I was wearing. After a half hour of testing, I was told that my hearing problem was neurological and that little could be done about it. I shared this with my general practitioner, who referred me to Audiologist Dr. Anita Carroll, who owns Hearing Solutions in the Triangle. Dr. Carroll specializes in high-quality, long-term hearing wellness solutions. When we spoke on the phone, she assured me she could help. After a half hour of testing, she recommended a pair of hearing aids with cutting-edge technology created by Phonak, a leading hearing solutions company founded in Switzerland in 1947. Dr. Carroll told me, "When we change the conversation from hearing loss as a sensory problem to hearing care as a part of healthy living, we can better help you connect socially and thrive mentally and emotionally." The solution included: Two audio P 90-R hearing aids A communications aid assessment Orientation and counseling A conformity inspection check Initial programming Real ear electroacoustic analysis The results were nothing short of miraculous. The first night I wore them, Moe and I were in the den watching television, and I asked her what the ticking noise I was hearing was. Moe smiled and said, "honey, that the clock ticking in the kitchen, like it has everyday during the four years we've lived in this house." My hearing is getting better every day. I hear things I haven't heard in years, and I'm also learning that my hearing patterns have become lazy, and now I'm listening proactively. Dr. Carroll says it's a six-week process to regain everything I've lost. No disrespect to Costco, but I learned that hearing is an ignored sense, and hearing well again is a PROCESS that needs the expertise of a trained Audiologist. Based on standard hearing examinations, one in eight people in the United States (13 percent, or 30 million) aged 12 years or older has hearing loss in both ears. About 2 percent of adults aged 45 to 54 have disabling hearing loss. The rate increases to 8.5 percent for adults aged 55 to 64. Please don't take healthy hearing for granted! Rich Russakoff --"

"I am a retired Speech Language Pathologist and came to see Dr. Carroll on recommendation from my Primary Care Physician. I knew my hearing was not what it once was as I was having difficulty hearing speech in a variety of settings. Dr. Carroll did a complete evaluation including a baseline for cognitive skills. After reviewing the results and at my request she recommended a hearing aid that would best fit my needs. I have been wearing this hearing aids for a month now and am amazed at the sounds I was missing. If you think you are experiencing hearing loss do not hesitate to get your hearing evaluated. An Audiologist such as Dr. Carroll can help you hear the world you are missing! Cindy Davis Ling"
