"At first I was pretty happy with things.. Now I am not. I feel like I’m treated like I should just know how to cope with a drastic change in my life and like it’s just a common cold. Dr. Nardin has no bedside manners, compassion or really any empathy whatsoever. After reading the reviews, it’s clear I’m going to be going elsewhere for treatment, knowledge and compassion for the diagnosis. Because sadly, while I love all my other UNC physicians, this clinic is NOT it."
"Been given the run around with these people for over two years now. I just turned 18 so I can make my own medical desicions and part of that is wanting a referral to see another neurologists (that just happens to be closer). I want to point out that I haven't been seen by any doctor here for over two years since they always want to cancel my appointments/ move them/ or use zoom call. I haven't been diagnosed or treated as of yet so when I want to make the decision to leave they make the referral process absolutely hectic for no reason. I can never get in contact with that actual doctor because everything is through mychart which I can't even get on. Anytime when I call the neurology department I'm always left to a voice-mail, and I've been calling at different times in the day. They have done nothing for me and all I want are answers."
"One of the worst medical appointments I’ve ever experienced. I have worked in medical settings myself for almost 20 years and I can say that patient care was not a priority on this day. The resident or med student was completely unprepared and just wrong about my history and her only response to anything we said was “let me ask my supervisor” and then Dr. Wang came in and was condescending and seemed annoyed that I was there at all, in spite of the previous neurologist (who has sadly moved on) clearly documenting in my previous note, that I needed to follow in 6-12 months. Dr. Wang was extremely rude. I’m glad my sister has been to all my appointments with me because she was equally surprised and taken aback by the experience. I’ve been lucky to have some great providers and medical care at UNC since my stroke. This recent appointment at the stroke clinic was not among them. It seems like the good providers leave."
"Wasted 5 months trying to get a diagnosis only for Dr. Vaughn to be incredibly rude and dismissive and to tell me I was lucky to be sitting there talking to him. The other doctors in the clinic were helpful but I had an awful experience and ended up having to spend thousands more to pursue the same diagnosis at Duke. I have never been treated so horribly by a doctor as Dr. Vaughn treated me, I’m not sure where he got the idea that it’s at all appropriate to talk to patients the way he talked to me. He wouldn’t answer any questions and kept restating the same sentence because I had informed him my sleep lab had too many confounding variables and I was asleep 2 hours before I got hooked up to be monitored so his diagnosis was inaccurate. He’s very arrogant and after one of his fellows spent 45 minutes with me and determined the accurate diagnosis, Dr. Vaughn ignored everything his fellow doctor said and that I said and had me out of the office within 5 minutes. His ego is too big to be a physician and he does not care about patient quality of life."
