"I called into the office to obtain my medical records for a life insurance application. The company to which I applied advised me this was the only office to have not responded after several fax requests (mind you, I was only seen once back in 2023 after transitioning from Novant Health - who sent my records promptly). Emily answered the phone and, in the midst of speaking with her, she lied to, interrupted, and was utterly disrespectful towards me. I was then transferred to the office manager (Kaitlin) who, while admittedly maintaining her composure with me, really expressed indifference as to how I was treated. I am a healthcare provider myself and, if these two were staff in my clinic, they would have been reprimanded and likely dismissed had I heard them speaking to a patient the way they did me. Ever since the "higher ups" at Avance came in and "cleaned house" with Dr. Hondros and his staff, this place has tanked. I went so far as to speak with Molly (regional director for Advance Care) last year about the "transition" and told her the reviews for this place would sink like a rock - and I was right. Molly said she would call me back to check in, but [regrettably] never did. Dr. Hondros, Dr. Strange, and the rest of their staff ran this place with CLASS! I always had a 5-star experience when my family and I walked in when Dr. Hondros and his team were running the place! So while I am disappointed they were "transitioned" out, I am happy they found a place where they're treated better and are respected for the team they are. If you're looking for them (because many have asked and gotten no response from Avance likely in hopes of keeping their patient population without losing money), Dr. Hondros and his mid-levels are with Atrium One Health Charlotte, and Dr. Strange will be opening her own clinic here soon. Don't waste your time with this office... and if you need proof, please read the most recent reviews below (click 'Newest' in heading). I would leave no stars if I could."

"I called here today first thing in the morning about my sick 11 month old who is an existing patient. They didn't even attempt to squeeze us in to see a doctor even though she's had a 102+ fever for over 24 hours, shivers, cough, and runny nose. They advised I go to a pediatric urgent care, all of which were on 4-6+ hour waits. I called back and left a message on the nurses line asking what I should do because nobody seems to be able to see her, that was 4 hours ago and not so much as a call back to tell me safe dosage for Tylenol or anything. I had to call my mother in law who works at a pediatric center in New Jersey to get her to ask her doctors what to do. With Ashley H gone, and Doctor Strange gone, I no longer recommend this office, apparently sick babies are not their concern."

"Very unsatisfied with this office. Very poor communication and care. From the doctor which of course is no longer there after a short stint, to the administrative staff. Very unorganized and unprofessional. Ashley H is the only shining light this place has. Imagine a doctor ordering a test for you and a month later when nothings been done you ask them about it, only to be told to call and set it up yourself since they can’t seem to make it happen. Yes that happened to me more than once. I assume they have a good doc or 2 but the rest of the team seem to be whatever they can scrape up to fill the spots. I wouldn’t go back to a Avance care office if it was the last doctors office on earth. I could write 5 pages worth of issues I experienced in just a few months. The best part is I’m expected to pay for this horrendous service. Keep wasting the paper sending the bills and collections notices because you won’t get a dime of my money. If you’re looking for a doctor I would urge you to ignore the 4.9 review score and keep looking. Only wish someone would have warned me prior."

"The most horrible experience I have ever had with a doctor office. The level of service I received from Dr Vomer and for me to not get proper medication that I needed is compared to a needle in a hay stack. I think a nightmare would be more satisfying than the service I received. The lack of communication between the staff is like a car without tires. I’m completely behoove. I get this is truly the meaning of doctor not caring about patient"

"Dr. Hondros is personable and extremely well versed in his medical field. I have been his patient for almost three years and his guidance regarding my health is excellent. He partners with my medical team expertly!"
