Reviews of Senior Health Center
"The majority of the staff are extremely rude. They act annoyed if you ask a question. My mother was having some significant health issues and the PA who was in charge of her care just sent us on a wild goose chase seeing up to 4 different specialists a week for 3 weeks before my mother was finally admitted to the hospital. Both my mother and I were reprimanded for not seeing a kidney doctor, which we knew nothing about, but was told it was in her chart. They dropped the ball. It was noted in her chart, but we were never told about needing to see any kidney specialist. It wasn't until my mother had been in the hospital a week, that a kidney doctor called and said they had a request for an urgent appointment. Too late. She was already in the hospital. When my mother was released from the hospital, she was never given any new prescriptions and when we had a follow up appointment, we were once again reprimanded for not getting and taking the new medications. There is no follow through communication in this practice and we will be looking for another practice that doesn't reprimand their senior patients when the fault was not the patients, but the doctors themselves."
"My grandmother has been to this practice for over a decade. My grandfather was a patient as well. My grandmother prefers Dr. Rudyk. She is not always available. Lately, she has seen Dr. Garner. He is very unprofessional and inefficient. My grandmother was diagnosed with lymphoma and had a wound on her leg. She was admitted to the hospital after her first treatment. Dr. Garner was very dismissive. Her wound was last changed on the Wednesday before her being admitted to the ER. Her wound care is supposed to be done every 3 days. We are now at a week. Dr. Garner advised she can remove it herself when we asked, again about the redressing. She is diabetic and on oxygen, to say the least. He tells me anything just to get out of the room. Unfortunately, all the specialists have to coordinate with him. He should not deal with the elderly in this capacity. Update 8/8/23 I reported Dr. Garner to the medical board. They retaliated by dropping my Grandmother from the practice. They gave her 30 days to find a new doctor. She is still taking cancers medications and still under the oncologist care. She is still receiving iron infusions. She has atleast 10 medications she needs filled. I have to complain about how the last 4 prescriptions they filled on her last visit just 3 weeks ago were all wrong. They blamed the pharmacy. One drug was the reason why she was hospitalized recently. The other drugs were stopped after a discharge from the hospital months ago. Dr. Cindy prescribed her half the dosage of her oncology medicine when she was discharged from the hospital. I had reach out to her cancer team to get it corrected. After the encounter with Dr. Garner I reported him and went about continuing to advocate for my grandmother who now has to fight for a doctor like she did cancer."
"My mother is 64 years old with no job and no responsibilities. Dr. John Timothy Garner with Senior Health Center is prescribing her adderall at a high dose. He can clearly see the signs that she is abusing the medication but continues to prescribe it. He refuses to talk with the family that is very concerned about her. She is now seeing hallucinations and is stuck in a state of psychosis. We have called several times to let him know but he refuses to stop prescribing this unnecessary medication. This has completely devastated our family and we are at a loss at what to do. It’s horrible to watch your family member deteriorate due to a medication that they think they need to live and the medical doctor has all the control."
"Best practice for anyone over 55.actually I would send my 30 year old there. They are very caring and know there medicine quick response in an emergency and great care in the hospital I was very ill and Dr Rudyk saved my life."
