"Worsed service the lady at front didn't apply for authorization for crown and she told me it will deny bla blaa. Doctor was good but they were asking too much for crown n inlay"
"The best dentist in the area! I’ve been coming here for 3 years and I’m always pleased with the service."
"Funny how once I shared my *real life* lived experience with Bayside Dental Group, suddenly they get flooded with a whole bunch of random, consecutive 5 star reviews. I think this speaks to this business' integrity and their priorities — to be deceptive and flat out unethical. Anyway, here's a transcript of my Sept 1st, 2023 visit requesting a referral: (Speaker 1 is me and Speaker 2 is the receptionist.) Speaker 1: Hi, I don't know who I spoke to on the phone earlier inquiring about a referral? Speaker 2: Hi. Speaker 1: Hi. Is there any chance that I can have that referral in hand and via email so that I can have a copy? Speaker 2: Well, if give you a copy, then there it is. Because I gave you a copy at the time of your appointment. Speaker 1: Right. Speaker 2: So I guess you misplaced it? Speaker 1: Correct. So, you're unable to email it to me? Speaker 2: I didn't say that I wasn't going to email you. You weren't giving me your email on the phone. Speaker 1: Can you email it now? It's better for me that way because I travel a lot for work. Speaker 2: What's your email? Speaker 1: It's *redacted* Speaker 2: I don't know what the issue is because I gave it to you at the time of your appointment. So if you misplaced it, that's on you. Speaker 1: I called 3x earlier and I drove all the way over here and you're still not giving me my referral? Come on now. Speaker 2: You're the one that lost your referral. That's not my fault. Speaker 1: Why are you going back and forth with me? I need the referral in order to get treatment? Can you just email me my referral? Speaker 2: No, she's not getting nothing. Get it from your insurance. Don't tell me what to do. Speaker 1: I'm a paying customer? Speaker 2: So? What does that mean? That doesn't mean you come in here yelling. Speaker 1: What?! I came in here very kind! Is there anyone else that can work on this for me? Speaker 2: No, no one else is here. I'm the one that works on it. Matter of fact, I don't have to give you anything. I gave it to you at the time of your appointment and you lost it. Speaker 1: Isn't this apart of your job? Speaker 2: At this point, you're gonna have to get it from your insurance. *Dr. Isaacs comes out to walk the receptionist away and calm her down* Speaker 2: No, she's not getting nothing. I don't have to give her anything. At this point, Dr. Isaacs stopped treating her patient to attend to this matter and to calm the receptionist down. I waited an additional 30 mins (despite the office being empty as pictured in an earlier review) for a printed copy of the referral, thus delaying my treatment. I get it, patients misplace documents frequently and dealing with the public is not easy. But, this was my first time ever having to replace a document and this was a pretty harmful response — especially in a healthcare setting. Please, don't be deceived by these suspicious, consecutive 5 star reviews. There's more than enough detailed experiences from former, and current patients, that have even spoken to calling the cops on the folks who work here! Not to mention, their Yelp page (and other crowd sourced review platforms) don't have an influx of 5 start reviews nor are they consistent with Google's. Their Yelp page currently has a 1.6 rating and, as of September 2023, their Google rating was a 1.7! And, if for some reason you're still considering this place, please read my review from less than 6 months ago re: their service. My dentist was Dr. Halpert and he's just not a thorough dentist. He'll casually poke through your mouth, won't ask questions except "How are you?", go through the motions with his incredibly brief cleanings and won't mention anything about what's going on in your mouth unless you speak up and really, really advocate for yourself. I told him that it was hard to brush back there and he looks at my 2021 x-rays (in 2023) and says, "Oh yeah, you need that wisdom tooth removed." When I asked him why he was just now saying something about it, he kinda nervously said me that it was fine and no big deal."
"I have been a pt here for a while and I must say I get the BEST cleanings here and Fran the office manager is the best. Office is super clean and pleasant 10/10 DEFF RECOMEND"
"I've (unfortunately) been a patron here since 2017. Bayside Dental Group has consistently been horrible. They really need to close. Very brief teeth cleanings — there have been times where I've waited 1.5 hrs for a 3 minute teeth cleaning. Dr. Halpert is not thorough. He won't mention anything going on in your mouth unless you do, but even then, there's no line of communication. He's just... there... going through the motions. Funneling you in and out. The receptionist with the multiple chains around her neck is incredibly inept and overall unprofessional. She went as far as to slam the glass window on me. She also refused to give me my referral to see my oral surgeon — I need the referral in order to receive service. I asked if she was able to email the referral to me, because it's more accessible that way, and she told me, "If it's printed why do I have to email you?" In 2023, isn't email common practice? Anyway, despite the waiting room being empty (as pictured) she made me wait 30 mins before printing out the referral and again refused to email it to me. Incredibly ableist and inconsiderate. I hate that I've stayed here for 6 years but luckily, they won't be seeing me again! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I'd choose NYU Dental's students before this place — they'll likely offer better service and professionalism. Bayside Dental Group really doesn't need to be in business — this is clear to me and the 40 other people who've also left reviews."
