"I’ve been going to Dr Mantel’s office for years and he’s overall a great dentist. His focus is straight to the point and office visits are efficient. I had all my wisdom teeth removed and Dr Mantel had a plan which made the most sense from a timing perspective with multiple visits. His staff is wonderful and super accommodating. I couldn’t recommend them enough."
"Been here a few days ago for a cleaning and wow was it bad. Other reviews are right. Rude lady in front (hello i am here to givr you money, better wise up!) and the cleaning hurt more than the breakup with my ex girlfriend. I will not be returning I can only imagine how many customers they're losing"
"Update: Removing one star. For a second time now I showed up to my 10:30 appointment 20 minutes early in hopes to get seen early so I can make it into work not too late. I am lucky I have an understanding boss who let me WFH last minute. When I get there the lights are off, the door is locked. They did not pull into the driveway until 10:45!! When I expressed my annoyance with how unacceptable and unprofessional this is to the receptionist I was told I was being rude. At no time did Dr Mantel who definitely heard all this apologize or try to defuse this situation. I was basically told by the reception that being late is acceptable, because "things happen". Yes that is true but when this constantly happens (and I know of others this has happened to multiple times as well) it is not acceptable, especially for a doctor/dentist office. 10:30 is either when you open or when your first appointment is...if you are making appointments for 10:30 the office should be opened by 10:15 the latest. It would also behoove him to get a hygienist. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Two stars only because as a dentist, Dr Mantel is good, I have no complaints there....he is nice, quick, efficient, as painless as dental work can be and I leave with my teeth feeling clean. His office staff/receptionist however leave little to be desired and really deserves no stars. The receptionist has an attitude. Making an appointment takes 2 days of calling (getting answering machine, being put on hold for 20+ minutes, being told they'll call you back and then not, etc.) I can even tolerate that hassle because I like Dr Mantel as a dentist but my last few interactions are not acceptable and very unprofessional... Per the receptionist they were not paid by my insurance my last 2 visits so she, without telling me first, filed another claim this past June (when I had no appointment) for services done LAST YEAR. I am now anticipating issues for the visit I just had with my insurance....which brings me to my next point.... I had an appointment for 10am, I get to the office at 9:50 and to my surprise the lights are off and the door is locked. I call and get the answering machine. According to google they open at 9:30. No sign of anyone expect me and another patient. Finally around 10:15-20 Dr Mantel and the receptionist pull into the driveway. He at least said good morning, she walks past us and gives an unpleasant look. No "are you here for an appointment", "sorry we are late", not even a smile at the very least. No acknowledgement that we have been clearly waiting on them! I listened to my voicemail from the Dr himself 3 times confirming the appointment was at 10:00am so I know I was there at the correct time. Most people don't take off a whole day of work for a morning appointment....luckily I live down the street and WFH!"
"I have seen Dr Mantel two times, both for a simple checkup and cleaning. Dr Mantel was very respectful to me. He is very fast, which I appreciate. He is very messy and probably requires an assistant as he spills water mixed with blood all over you. My blouse was ruined, and I also had blood all over my face. Not a good experience and leaves me to wonder how he handles more than a simple cleaning and checkup. My experience with his front office staff is unbelievable. As a professional, mature woman who has managed large global offices. I can say this office is run both unprofessionally and unethically. The doctor's front office staff are/is rude, unprofessional, unethical at best. I was accused of a now show, which is not true. I not only called but I made several attempts to contact them without being able to successfully get through. They do not answer the phone. Truth is I never miss appointments, and if I cancel its a good reason. I was told I was lying, additionally I was told my wait time was because I have "bad" insurance. My advice would be to stay away from this Dentist and his office. Seems like a shady, unethical, unprofessional environment. I wouldn't associate with them on my best day. A doctor who allows anyone to speak with his patients like this, is not a very good person or Dentist."
"Dr.Mantel is a decent dentist but the staff makes going to the practice not worth it. I’ve gone here for yrs with both my parents and sister but in recent years it appears that they have become money hungry. The staff is rude and won’t return calls. The last straw for my family is when the receptionist demanded several hundred dollars from my father for dental procedure that she states insurance would not cover. She refused to put through the claim first to see if they will cover it. We later found out that not only did she make my father pay out of pocket, but a claim was also submitted to the insurance company who approved it and paid it out. In other words they got paid 2x. When we asked for a refund since insurance did cover the procedure, she refused. The dental work that was done was also not done properly and my father had to go back to them to correct it. They again wanted to charge him for it even thought it was their mistake. We ended up switching dentist and having my dad get his dental work properly fixed. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a dentist."
