"This is the worst dentist office. At my appointment about two years ago, the dentist scolded me about telling her how to do her job when I relayed the message from my endo specialist after my root canal that he said a post in the crown would be a bad idea for my future health with the crown. She did not want to have to do more work to put it in without a post. I didn't post a review at that time because I didn't really ever plan on going back to this office. However, this week the root canal and crown were causing extreme pain for me, so I went back to have it checked. First I waited for over an hour in the very crowded waiting room crying the entire time. Every time someone else was called in before me, they looked at me like they were so sorry for me. When I finally did get called in, this time it was one of the hygienists that was unkind and unprofessional. I was crying from the pain in my mouth and it was radiating all over my face. I hadn't slept or eaten anything. After cleaning and checking and finding nothing, she said to me, well we didn't find anything after cleaning so maybe you just got food stuck in there. Do you think maybe you just have a low tolerance for pain? NO! They told me not to take the antibiotic or pain killers yet because it would probably feel better now that I had a cleaning. It did not. I cried in my shower for hours that night. In the morning I called the specialist where I had the root canal done and he had me come right in. He identified the likely problem immediately, went to work, and less than 12 hours later I was feeling brand new. Turned out it was a very deep infection that was spreading and he couldn't imagine how I had made it that long in so much pain. I had started the antibiotics anyway the night before because of the pain and he was so thankful I did that because I should not have been waiting for an infection that bad. Oh, and the reason I got an infection? Ill-fitting crown because Dr. Imani clearly didn't know what she was doing and messed up putting on that crown. I will be changing my PCP immediately and never going back to I Smile Dental Care in Jackson Heights ever again. They are unprofessional and just care about filling up time slots with as many people as possible even if they all have to wait in a tiny front room for hours. Worst doctor's office I have ever been to."
"Dentist Imani has the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced. She speaks in a condescending manner to her patients. Instead of being helpful or listening to patient concerns she makes them feel hopeless about their health. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. On top of that she charged the insurance for services she did not perform. I will be reporting her for insurance fraud. There are several better dentists within walking distance from this office. Don’t waste your time here."
"Dr.Imani is an outstanding professional who genuinely cares about her patients. Her kindness and expertise make every visit a great experience. Highly recommended!"
"I walked out before being seen for my appointment. I waited nearly an hour without being informed the reason why. My appointment was at 4PM. All the while I saw workers coming in and out of one room just standing around in the front with a full waiting room. After waiting for 40 minutes after my appointment time all I was told was that there was 1 patient in front of me and it was going to be “maybe” another 20 minutes. I say “maybe”, because she didn’t look so convinced giving me the estimated time. There was no reason given to me(as a patient) to why I was waiting so long. I could’ve understood if I was informed that they had fallen behind. Any reason would’ve actually worked! I had to ask to receive an update in the waiting time. Keep in mind that my appointment was at 4PM and there was people there before me that were STILL waiting. There were no updates or apologies given to me or others for the wait time. I was informed that would receive some forms that needed to be filled out prior to my appointment. I never received the forms and had to go out of my own way to get them. The irony is that I did it to avoid any unnecessary waiting time. P.S: I was a NEW patient"
