"I had a great expeience with the whole office and saw Dr Michael Forman for my surgery. Painless procedue, recovery and very caring doctor with personal follow up. Nancy was excellent in assiting me with my insurance-highly recommneded!"
"Facilities are beautiful and welcoming, but the office/billing staffs are not helpful, are bad at communicating, and costs are much higher than they initially communicated. Due to nerve position relative to teeth to be extracted, we were quickly upsold on a 3D X-ray that unfortunately was not covered by our dental insurance…that was $500/$600. The X-Ray showed cysts that were recommended to be removed. Scheduled an appointment to remove our daughter’s 4 wisdom teeth. We were billed at the time we dropped her off for this. When we picked our daughter up, only two teeth were removed due to recovery time. This was completely unexpected as we contacted the office staff multiple times to confirm the procedure. We were billed for 4 units of anesthesia to remove two teeth. Had we known in advance, we would have changed the appointment to avoid the extra recovery time and costs. Office begrudgingly allowed us to apply some of the anesthesia cost to the top teeth. We accepted and scheduled an appointment to remove daughter’s top wisdom teeth several months later. A few days before the second extraction, the Dr. called and said that because teeth were so impacted, he no longer recommends extraction and instead recommended that we do biopsy of the cysts. How come the biopsy was not done during the first teeth removal appt when the 3D X-Ray showed cysts and the doctor knew this all along? Why a separate appointment later which cost over $1,800? If there was good communication with any regard for patient’s checkbook, why wasn’t the cyst removal recommended at the time the doctor decided to only take 2 teeth out vs. the original 4? At the time of agreeing to remove the cyst, we were not made aware that 1) this was a medical procedure and not dental, 2) that the oral surgeon office did not accept any medical insurance. We did not find this out until we dropped off our daughter and paid the over $1,800 for the procedure. The office did the biopsy and mailed the specimen out. Insurance paid over $950 for the lab work, and we were the recipient of another $50 co-payment. So all-in, we paid well over $3,500 BEFORE insurance for the removal of 2 wisdom teeth and two biopsies. We called the office attempting to reduce the cash cost. The office staff did not at any time inform us of the fact that they do not take insurance for the biopsy until the drop off. They referred to a recording of our previous conversations, which they allege that they disclosed not taking insurance. I asked several times for Nancy the office manager to play the recording, but Nancy was so RUDE and would not do so. I simply asked for the $250 in-network discount that was on our EOB, but they refused. You would think after spending over $3,500, they would be understanding and work with us. Nope. I will not be going back. Office staff needs to do a much better job communicating with patients on the out-of-pocket costs. I do not recommend going here unless you want to overpay and gets lots of surprise expenses."
"Worst medical billing office I have ever experienced This practice needs to reevaluate their office billing manager, NANCY, and her rude, incompetent, unprofessional and uncaring service. I see bad reviews for Nancy going back to 2018 on Healthgrades, so not sure why Greenwich Oral Surgery continues to employ her! Along with other egregious behavior she literally tried to blame me and/or my daughter for all her own office's mistakes! Her mismanagement meant I waited nearly 3 months for my insurance reimbursement check. She also made it very clear during that time that she could not have cared less that I was out of pocket. It got to the point that I filed a grievance complaint with my dental insurance company. There was one lone employee, who I believe was new and not even in the billing department, who tried on several occasions to help me and should be commended for that. But I would not recommend this practice based solely on our experience dealing with their billing department. The wisdom teeth surgery itself was OK though, disturbingly, they still use opioids post surgery so you have to speak up to opt out!"
"I cannot recommend this more. Walked in w a tooth infection and walked out less than an hour later without a tooth. The staff is WONDERFUL and the doctor is a dream. Was charged $790 for removal of 1 tooth."
"The staff at the Greenwich office is incredible. So friendly and efficient! I always recommend this office to friends and family. The cleanliness and safety practices are outstanding during this pandemic and I applaud each of them for their hard work during this time. Thank you!"
