Reviews of J's Kitchen New York
"Unapologetically Japanese food indistinguishable from what you'd get in Tokyo today, owned and operated by an enthusiastic young Japanese gentleman who you can tell really cares about taste and authenticity. A lot of these dishes are contemporary hits easy to find in Japan but really hard to find in NYC."

"Pretty authentic Japanese selections that covers various famous locations in Japan. It's a cute little restaurant with minimalistic decor and offers a warm and welcoming dining experience! Service was friendly and quick as well! We got the Hamburg set and the potato salad side. The Hamburg was flavorful and the fries and little veggies that accompanied it tasted good too! However, the price is on the higher end for what it came with. Even more so for the small scoop of potato salad on that big bedding of lettuce, which really cheapened the experience unfortunately. The quality of the food is definitely there, but I believe they can do even better if they adjusted the price a bit and offered a little more portion for the potato salad, because let's be honest, that's barely one potato for $5.50... Hoping for the best and will come back to try some of their other items one day. Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:"
"J’s Kitchen has been on my bucket list for a while and we finally got a chance to visit it. The decor is simple, bright and humble with cozy ambiance & limited seating. They serve dishes from 6+ popular restaurant brands in Japan. We got Roast Beef Don in regular size and Beef Cutlet Combo to share between us. Both orders were served warm and impressively delicious, especially the roast beef, which was tender & flavorful. Moreover, they also made rice and side salad perfectly. The price is extremely reasonable with its portion and delicateness. We highly recommend to give them a try."
"One of the best Japanese meals I've had in New York. I had the chicken katsu don and loved every bite. The chicken was thick, juicy, and perfectly fried. My husband enjoyed the black curry chicken. Will definitely be back!"
