"Update 11/18/23: Breathtaking performance of Cold Mountain Opera Attendance at Premier concert at the historic First Baptist Church: FABULOUS! Please support this incredible venue and these superb musicians! Sep 23/2023"
"The Asheville Symphony performance on NYE 2022 was fabulous! The two singers were very accomplished and talented. Their vocals added amazing depth to the musical score. I lived near NYC for over 30 years and attended many Broadway musicals but this performance ranks at the top of my list of fabulous evenings with music… will be hard to top 007 next NYE 2023… how about a repeat?"
"Great Performance. ASO is top-notch for a town our size. Auditorium seats are VERY uncomfortable. It was sad to see all the middle-aged people at intermission bending & stretching & leaning against the walls trying to shake the stiffness out of their legs. Instead of spending $2.5 million to jam up Merrimon for a handful of elitist bicyclists while increasing litigation for motorists who can't see these speeding bicyclists on their electric bikes traveling in excess of the speed limit, spend that same money on reconfiguring our Civic Center so it's more like the Met. $2.5 Million would be far better invested in our great musicians and in our Civic Center than hurting all the merchants along Merrimon by making their businesses difficult to access due to entitled bicyclists who are so inconsiderate they can't even share a rarely-used sidewalk with the few pedestrians who use it. Now there's a tragedy for the stage - a handful of selfish bicyclists pull the wool over officials eyes, hurt local businesses and increase litigation while talented performers and their patrons are forced to endure a deteriorating building because officials were hoodwinked by a small group that doesn't care about the negative impact it has on local merchants."
"It's a real treat to live somewhere with an excellent symphony orchestra! I have been to a few performances now, from Masterworks concerts at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium to ALT ASO (held at a brewery, which was creative and so very Asheville), and I have come away with joy every time. I appreciate so much the amazing talent in this group of musicians, and kudos to the director on the thoughtfulness and attention to detail given to threading together the historic, musical and emotional connections that breathe even more life into the music for the audience - it adds another fantastic layer to the experience. Every one of the ASO's performances that I've seen is so well done from start to finish. Bravi!"
"Love the symphony. It's a great cultural experience every fall. We've been season pass holders this year and have really been enjoying the recurring shows. Can't wait for the next one!"
