Qingshu 86 Spicy Hot Pot 青蔬麻辣烫

"Oh dear, Brooklyn was missing a single-serve Mala Hotpot spot and this place delivered! Way too much food for the price. If they made it cheaper while bringing down the portions, it would allow customers to include an appetizer in their meal (though maybe some people might not be happy about that) Opened just a few months ago, I see some growing pains, but without a doubt, the food is delicious. It's a little confusing for first-time orders, but getting the prefixed combos is delicious already. You need to pick your combo, then pick a soup base, and lastly, the type of noodle you want. I didn't choose the usual combos in the pictures I am sharing since I came with a couple of friends to share and explore the menu. Gotta say that the spicy fish is my all-time favorite so far and glad I was able to give it a shot. To order, go the the counter and take a look at the menu. You can decide to pick your meats and veggies on your own, or just pick a combo and order at the counter. They will give you a number and bring your food to you. But sometimes, they would just go to your table and take your order that way too. A little confusing but at least you have options haha. The sauce station is a little weak too, but never needed it. All in all, probably deserves 4-4.5 stars since the service and menu aren't excellent, but the food carries the rating."

"The service was amazing, they explained everything so perfectly and speak multiple languages, which is very convenient for anyone who wants to go. The place is so comfortable and designed so eye catching, you definitely wouldn’t miss it, so you should try it out! I would definitely recommend this for lunch because the portions are so big at such a good price too! If you want a fulfilling meal without too much money and fast and great service, come to this restaurant!"

"I like the option to pick your own food and pay by weight. Sometimes I only want 1 or 2 piece of an I ingredient, or I want to try something new without having to get an entire order. The service was very good. The first time I came in the girl at the cash register very kindly explained to me how pay by weight worked. This is my second time visiting within 2 weeks. While I was waiting I was envious of the Togo bag the Food Panda order was packed in very cute. But to my surprise my order also came in the cute bag. I opted for the mala xiang guo, it was slightly too salty this time but still manageable. The shrimp was fresh and love the fish roe fish balls. I like that at this place your can choose to have rice or other form of noodles at no additional cost. The tea was average but you do get a discount when you get it with your meal which is a plus. Super glad that there is now a good option for mala tang/xiangguo in the area. Will try dining in next time."
