"I am the son of Mimi and I really don't appreciate what the reviews are saying and it really breaks my heart some of these are saying that she's very unprofessional I never knew that after 21 years of doing hair that people would still say that she does not know how to do it.Also,for those of you saying that the kids are playing in your hair they were not,those so called kids,are my sisters and I think they do a very good job if you day that ur hair is falling out it probably means that ur hair is dirtier than the place you got your hair braided in she has had that shop for 21 years and you expect it Nottoway be dirty? And that shop has had its upside and downs and you cannot say that she does a very bad job and she's a liar as I remember there is a price to wash a price for blowdrying and of course there is a price for your hair you say expensive and then compare it to other shops I really think that every shop has its own price and it's own way to do hair.I think that you guys are the liars and all the time I always hear my mom say a hairstyle to the customer that will last for her.And my mom will charge extra based on how hard your hair is to braid and saying that the shop is dirty before you say that think sbout your hair sometimes but we now work at a new shop at 154 Jefferson Ave Elizabeth,NJ feel free to come and you really don't know what Mimi goes through so make sure you know what your trying to say Alit of these customers are actually rude but they also argue and it's really sad to hear I would appreciate all the false rumors and lies stop.Thank You"

"I was a loyal customer of Mimi I've been going to her for years. She (Mimi) is so unprofessional to the point of just making her customers wait on her for no reason. I had an appointment with her at 9am, I got to the shop and she wasn't there so I called her and she said she was on her way. So I asked her how much longer will it take her to get to the shop, she stated that she would be there in 30 minutes, so I waited. At 10am I tried calling her but she did not answer meanwhile I was sitting in her shop waiting on her for an hour. So I asked the barber to call and low and behold she answers the phone and proceeded to tell that barber to tell me she will be there in a minute. So I said to the barber can you let her know to call me I am just going to get something to eat because by then it was 11am. I walked to Broad Street to get me some food and who do I see, yep "MIMI" on broad street just shopping like she did not have customers waiting on her. So at first she doesn't see me, so I called her and over heard her say to her friend, tha'ts my annoying customer she is in the shop waiting on me. Well guess what, I was standing right in front of her to her surprise. Now she want to explain why she was almost 3 hrs late but by then I was not interested. Any way I went to another shop in Elizabeth "EMI'S HAIR BRAIDING" and was treated with so much respect, I come all the way from Central Jersey just to get my hair done. GO WHERE YOU ARE VALUED, MIMI IS SO UNPROFESSIONAL!"

"I went there two weeks ago and my hair has fallen out from knotless braids! Also, there was roaches crawling from the ceiling and in and out of the mannequin eyes."

"See i would have gave her more stars but the last experience, was not a good one. I was going here for almost a year, great braiding, conversation, and just all good vibes. I sent my daughter there to get just 2 cornrows, which she always gets, but I didn't go with her. She took this opportunity to keep the change from the payment given for the style, and told my child it was extra to comb her hair which is a lie, because I attended the shop numerous times, and no such charge exist. I called and she said to comb hair, then made up 2 more excuses, then told my daughter to walk back and get the change that was suppose to be given to her from the payment initially. This really hurt me to see that a person would get over on a child even as a loyal customer. Even with great braiding, I will never go back there or recommend anyone either."
