"In Nov. I went to a Dentist who's suppose to be in-network and that 100% of services are covered, as they are listed on my Insurance's website AND ZocDoc. However, I came out of pocket about $1000 for cleanings for me and my daughters. In Dec. I had my Union find me a Dentist who's supposedly in-network, and I chose Dr. Grytsenko at Union Square Dental from the list they provided. From the front desk staff, to the Dental Assistant, to Dr. Grytsenko herself, everyone has been pleasant thus far. My initial appt was a 2nd opinion because I was already seen in Nov for my annual. I only needed an in-network Dentist to do the work that was diagnosed. Even though I sent them the x-rays from the Nov. dental visit, they wanted to take a couple more. Their x-rays showed the same thing that the previous appt had said I needed. The only thing that the Dentist in Nov. had wrong was that my daughter didn't have cavities. However, Grytsenko STILL wanted to put a little filling on one of her molars. I paid $24 due to having had my annual the month before. As Kristin D's commented, they setup an appt for me to do a filling and told me that it would cost nearly $600 for the filling as they only do porcelain fillings, which my insurance doesn't cover. I found that weird, and came out of pocket because I needed it done. It was a two step procedure; first part was to dig out the cavity and put in a temporary filling, then come back in a couple of weeks for the porcelain. The day she applied the porcelain fillings, I thought that it was fine, but I was still numb. After the numbness went away later that day, I realized that it was too big or sharp and it kept hitting my bottom tooth anytime I grinned my tooth while chewing and a couple of days later it felt like I had a cavity as it was sensitive to cold air, drinks, certain fruits. I contacted the Office via email to inform them and Grytsenko told me to come in asap. She took an x-ray to see if the tooth was filled properly and I even saw that it supposedly was, and she filed the tooth down. She said that the sensitivity should go away soon and put some desensitizer on the tooth. While that helped for about a week or so, the sensitivity returned and has remained til this day. I was suppose to have another tooth filled this week, but Grytsenko cancelled.....that was God! I've been reluctant to go because I don't feel any sensitivity on the tooth that she is suppose to work on and I don't want that tooth to feel the way the one she worked on still feels. I don't need a mouth of sensitivity. I have to find another IN-NETWORK Dentist a.s.a.p. and before our 6mth appts."
"I have been a happy patient of Union Square Dental for the last 2 years. Doctor Kanatova and her assistant Nataliya consistently provide excellent dental care. Their work is precise and gentle. The done here crowns look & feel like my natural teeth! They make sure I am aware of all available options for maintaining healthy teeth (which I think is the key to having healthy mouth , what in turn directly affects your overall health, speaking as a nurse, that I am). I may not afford some procedure / treatment at the moment, but I know what can be done in the future to better my teeth & gums. I actually enjoy visiting my dentist office, knowing that I am getting high quality care! And how many people can say that about their dentist?"
"Don’t make the mistake I made choosing this location. Absolutely disgusting the way this place is ran. Heavy car dealership energy trying to upsell you and then having the nerves to overcharge your insurance. They take advantage of people if you don’t consistently check your coverage charges. In the long term this is an awful way to run a business because no one would want to return when you have bad business ethics. I hope this review makes at least some people avoid this place because this is just not the proper way to conduct business. Bad service is one thing but charging you for something you didn’t know is just plain wrong, if I didn’t log in my Cigna account I would have never known the things they were doing. Always check your bill when coming here if you choose to have service done here."
"Like other mentions here, you'll come away feeling less like a patient at a dentist's office and more like someone on the lot of car dealership. As other reviewers have noted, the providers push you to buy something with little communication or explanation. A routine visit ends with a full court press for you to spend money on something out-of-pocket without knowing you actually need it. Would recommend going elsewhere."
"The care I received on my visit seemed great, but--as other reviewers have noted--the providers were pushing me to get something that clearly seemed like a play to drive more revenue to their business. In my case they were pushing me to get Invisalign, which I had never heard in any prior dentist visit, saying I had "structural damage that I wouldn't notice until it's too late." This would cost anywhere between $6-10k, so I told them I'd hold off. I consulted two other dentists, and both said this isn't necessary and were curious why the provider recommended it. I'd explore other options in the area as opposed to being subject to predatory tactics like this."
