"I went to the hair salon yesterday, to get a haircut. I was showing a picture of what a wanted and we both agreed to how it should look like. The wierd thing is that I didn’t tell her how short I wanted. She didn’t ask me. She just cut it. I’m very sad and I have been crying all day and all night. It looks like one of the kids took a scissor and cut my hair. I will not recommend to go there. I walked down to the hair salon to talk to them and the manger didn’t even wanna talk to me. Which I think is not a very professional thing to do unfortunately"
"5/26/2023 Penny's Salon went way up on their prices. At my last appt the price went up $15.00. I am a regular customer, no advance notice was given. They don't post their price list either. I will be going elsewhere! Don't like their deceptive practices."
"I was excited to try a salon that said they also do natural hair. Upon booking 2 appointments one for me and one for my friend, I was under the impression we would each get a stylist. However, only one lady worked on our hair. Thy advertise that they do natural hair but the “silk press” we received was a regular press. We were on the salon for 8hrs. She was scissor happy when it came to trimming. She also had negative talk about natural hair and proceeded to say how stylist don’t want to do our hair because it takes too long. The service was overpriced for what we got. Usually a silk press lasts 2-3 weeks, but the stylist said “it may last 1 day.” Overall I was not pleased with this salon experience, will not be going back or recommending it."
"Salon is conveniently located at my local mall. I made an appointment for my mother. She wanted color (bleach) and a "not too short" hair cut. The manager did the color and hair cut. She was very patient and took her time with her. She made sure my mother was happy. Mom was very happy, the cut and color came out like she wanted it. Staff was nice. Salon was neat, bathroom was clean"
"I came to the salon for a haircut to ease me with my pregnancy this summer a little bit. I told the front desk staff that I need a haircut and she asked me IF I have an appointment and I said no as I happen to pass by the salon and didn’t know that I had to make one. Anyway, she said it’s okay and will see if she can find a stylist available. She had me wait for a good 10-15 mins, heard her page for the stylist. While I was sitting at their waiting corner, a person whose name is Evelyn approached & introduced herself to me & said she was gonna be my hairstylist. She had me sit down as she prepares her stuff. I told her I just need a haircut and don’t need a shampoo or hair wash as I am pregnant and did not want to spend more time doing that (I always shower when I get home).. she started a small talk with me by saying she gave her son haircut last night and asked me briefly how far along I am in my pregnancy… before she begins, I asked her if I can show her a picture of the haircut that I want and she looked at it on my phone and we both confirmed and agreed as I repeatedly said to her, not too short just like this (referring to the photo/s on my phone again), shoulder length. When she saw the picture, she told me oh you want to cut your hair really short which surprised me because it obviously wasn’t too short but anywAy, I figured that was her idea of being short..not sure if there was something with her eyesight or what. I was confused but I thought, she’s a stylist and she knows. She began sectioning my hair from the front of my face then back. She did it for a while and was a bit sluggish and though it made me feel uncomfortable as I felt something was off with the way she was doing it, I trusted her since again, she’s a stylist. She finally took a bunch of hair just in the back, and without sectioning/clipping by layers like other stylists would usually do based on my experience, she didn’t and went ahead and chopped off my hair! I stopped her when I felt something she did was really off but it was too late! I started to freak out and turned sideways to look in the mirror and to my surprise, she cut my hair reaaaaallly short!! It wasn’t just cut short, it was extremely UNEVEN especially on the left side!!!!! It looked like I had an undercut from behind and the whole thing was just reaaally horrible to look at. I told her why she did it and said well, you said shoulder length. I said that’s you’re idea of a shoulder length and the other staff came to I think somehow sympathize and calm me down and I turned to her and asked her if she thinks what she did was shoulder length and said NO….Evelyn (the stylist) kept insisting it is shoulder length and I still don’t get where she’s getting that idea from! I felt so stressed at that time and mad but I remained calm for the sake of my pregnancy condition but the cut section of my hair looks sooooo awful you wouldn’t think a hair stylist just did that.. I felt like I was a guinea pig being in the hands of a super newbie and inexperienced stylist. I started asking her and the staff there if she really was a stylist and all they could do is to say, of course, yes she is but they OBVIOUSLY know it was absolutely awful what she did to may hair. It was too late. The back part of my hair was cut really short and uneven and that staff tried to pacify me and said don’t worry they’re gonna get it fixed and the haircut is on them. She washed my hair and sat me down. Eventhough she was apologetic, sympathetic and nice, I wasn’t confident she would be able to totally fix it as while she was combing my hair, she kept asking the other stylist (older than her, I forgot who between them was Gabby) but since that other stylist was tending to another customer at that time, she said she will help her and show her how to fix it just let her finish with that customer. When she finally finished, that staff started fixing the rest of my hair (whatever she can still save) and she did most of the work. CONTINUATION ON THE NEXT REVIEW"
