Reviews
"Sabrina and Alasia were awesome. I went for a cut and color, wasn't thrilled with the color when I got home and they were able to schedule me in within the same week to discuss my concerns and fix the color. Everyone was super friendly and helpful (I liked a bunch since it was my first time getting color in 10+ years). Would recommend a visit for the curly girls in NYC."
"Sabrina is the BEST in the field! From her professionalism, attention to detail, active listening skills, expert knowledge in her craft, advice, and compassion, honestly, none can come close to comparing. I would buy a plane ticket just to ensure SHE is the one that cuts my hair. Her salon is exquisite, clean, and beautifully presented. Her staff are equally professional, friendly, and help make the entire experience one-of-a-kind! One cannot simply find better service and results elsewhere! I am absolutely in love with my new look and now I’m on the road to longer, stronger, healthier hair! 11/10!!!"
"A complete disappointment. I was asked what I wanted out of my haircut - I said fullness and volume but to retain the length. I had followed the website instructions that said come washed and dried with little to no product other than a small amount of leave-in. So I did that. At the onset of the appointment, I showed the stylist photos of my hair when it's styled bc it's COMPLETELY different than when it's "untreated" she even joked when I motioned with my hands over my head just how much volume and fullness that I was technically asking for an afro. She commented on how soft and healthy my hair was and that it didn't need to be cut so she'd take off the tiniest sliver just to build the layers for fullness. Anyway - she stood in front of me to cut my hair so I couldn't see the mirror. Once she moved to show me the finished product she asked what I thought. I IMMEDIATELY replied - I actually hate it. The words just flew out of my mouth, I felt bad for being so harsh. She was apologetic and asked what can she do?! I said ummm nothing bc you cut it all off?! And forget the length for a second, the SHAPE of the cut was just... awful. There's no graduation between layers it's like I have two layers - a top short layer and a little section of my length left below - so it was just like an upside down triangle?! She insisted on showing me the back to which I replied who cares if the front looks awful?! But I agreed to look at the back only to be further horrified. I asked her to re-wash my hair and I walked to Walgreens bought some products from there and came back and tried styling it myself in the hopes that it could come out differently. It didn't. I'm attaching pics of my styled hair that I specifically showed her and the before pic from this morning and the after of when she styled it. It's hair and it grows back was my response to the what can we do to make you like this cut bc there was LITERALLY no fixing this mess without giving me a pixie cut basically. The more frustrating part was that I was expected to pay full price for the terrible cut. Not even offered a discount. That's just poor customer service. When asked if I'd like to book my next appointment I literally laughed and said I'm never coming back! I drove nearly 2hrs to come here for this hack job?! I paid over $20 in tolls alone. I could have gotten the same quality cut at a Hair Cuttery or something and saved gas, tolls, time and a TON of money! $175 ... so disappointing but I paid it bc I just wanted to get out of there and not make a scene. And the salon website says something about it being luxurious - I don't know if NY and Philly define luxury differently but there was nothing luxurious about the place. It's an ordinary salon. Yes it was clean and bright, but again. Ordinary. Save your hair and your money and go elsewhere unless you have longer lengths and only need a trim. It's a shame bc the stylists there are SUPER NICE but I'm not impressed with the quality of the cut. I wasn't going to even bother with a review but I sat here and thought to myself - it's terrible cuts like this that made me hate my curly hair for years and led me to straighten it for decades!!! I recently transitioned back to my natural curls and all the anxiety and torture of bad haircuts over the years before "curly hair was a thing" came rushing back. I ALMOST called my old stylist on the 2hr drive back to get an appointment ASAP to straighten it again but I reminded myself that luckily winter is approaching, I can hideout at home until it grows out or wear hats if I must go out. **I only tried this place bc my cousin and I planned to get our hair done together and my normal curly hair stylist is booked out several mos. But now I see why and I already went online and scheduled a cut w her for February. Hopefully she can fix this so it grows out looking normal and can regain some fullness."
"LOVE THIS PLACE. The vibe in here is so warm and inviting and all of the stylists are so kind and accommodating. I had my first curly cut here and Desiree was so awesome. She took time to explain everything we were doing, and the best part? I have never seen my curls look so bouncy and healthy. I already scheduled my next appointment, you should too. Incredible!"
"Very satisfied. Staff was knowledgeable, gentle, patient and overall excellent with my baby girl. Like many other mommies- I was terrified to cut her hair for the first time but the stylist there made me feel so comfortable. The stylist gave many tips on how to manage her hair type, in addition to recommendations on products. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning. Before and after photos attached!"
