"I was hesitant to post my experience but this dentist was not very nice. It was my first time using my dental insurance and she was out of network. Her office does not discuss prices over the phone(red flag#1). Her front desk assistant was standoffish. For one tooth cleaning Lida billed my insurance $550, $250 of which I had to pay out of pocket. She was polite and skilled during the first cleaning, but when I didn’t understand how to pay to the balance, her whole demeanor changed. She started looking at me with disgust, and then said something like “.. I need to eat too, afford to live, blah blah blah” she acted like a gangster and kept trying to intimidate me. Afterwards she spoke to her assistant in Spanish and they laughed because they were making fun of me. It was very uncomfortable while I was trying to find out how and what amount to pay. I ended up paying with credit card which is when she calmed down. Because this is the first dentist I been to, I had a follow up to discuss a crown fitting and the price. She suggested my root canal would need a post(my in network provider at tooth fairy endodontics made the hole tiny, thankfully) putting Porcelain in my molar that would cost $2k for one tooth. This time I did some research on the process and was more informed. No dentists in their right mind would put porcelain on the molar. The molar is where the strongest force is exerted when chewing. Porcelain can crack easily. Thankfully I didn’t proceed and found a different dentist, otherwise she would have billed my insurance for a post and the crown. Imagine how big the bill I would have to pay out of pocket would be."
