"I have been interested in trying this restaurant since it opened (I frequented this location when it was Ping’s who had the best fried calamari in my humble opinion). Since the closing of East Ocean Palace in Forest Hills, patrons have probably flocked to Ocean Bay so it gets crowded and this is not one of the larger restaurants. Flushing’s Lake Pavilion’s food quality has been so disappointing as of late so thankfully the food is very good here in Ocean Bay. We have our standard favorites such as the shrimp with mayo sauce and walnuts and clams with black bean sauce. We were a party of 4 with eyes that are bigger than our stomachs so we limited ourselves to just 5 dishes (that is what I consider self control). Delicious and satisfying at approximately $50 per person including tip. Service needs some improvement as it was slightly challenging to get a waiter but I would give them a pass considering it was Chinese New Year. I will have to return for dim sum lunch to see how they compare to Asian Jewels in Flushing. There is a valet parking lot which they share with the New Life Fellowship church (formerly the Elk’s Lodge that housed ECW events: “E C DUB!”) and getting in there can also be challenging during peak hours so plan accordingly!"
"They get really busy during lunch time, especially on the weekends. Food is fresh. We tried the lobster with sticky rice for the first time after so many visits. It was really good. The lobster is fresh and sweet. All the dimsum carts came out from the kitchen often which was nice. Everyone in my party of 7 enjoys everything, despite the long wait for the tables. It was totally understandable seeing the place was packed with patrons. We had no drinks .. just the tea. The check came out to about $50 per person. But it was all worth it. And everyone was having a good time and enjoying their meals. Thank you, Ocean Bay =)"
"The best fresh shrimp and leek steamed vermicelli roll in New York! The quality of service and food has been stable. The attendance rate of the restaurant has always been very high, and it should be the best place for nearby neighbors to drink Cantonese morning tea. The price is moderate and the environment is clean! Recommend"
"Dining at the ocean bay restaurant with my friends was an absolute delight. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that set the perfect tone for a memorable evening. The menu was a seafood lover's dream, offering a wide array of delectable dishes that catered to all our tastes. We couldn't resist ordering the mouthwatering crab fried rice and the tender cold dungeness crab. Every dish was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with authentic Cantonese flavors that left us craving for more. The attentive and friendly staff added to the overall experience, making our dinner feel like a special occasion. What made this dining experience truly exceptional was the combination of exquisite food, great company, and the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. Sharing such delectable Cantonese seafood dishes with friends made for a memorable and enjoyable evening. We couldn't stop raving about the restaurant's commitment to using fresh ingredients and their mastery of Cantonese cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to savor the best of Cantonese seafood while enjoying a wonderful time with friends."
"I've eaten here a few times. They have dim sum and the food from their menu is quite delicious as well. The place can get crowded really fast at times. Service is pretty good unless they are busy. It's a great spot for groups and families. I like the fried walnut shrimp, crab meat fried rice, and French style rib eye steak. Their soup is good too. As for their dim sum, come here if you're a local and don't want to travel to Flushing for some."
