Reviews of Sweet Mimi's Café & Bakery
"Very busy place. We went on a Thursday and had a 45 minute wait for outside seating. Inside seating was an hour wait. After 10 minutes we had to ask for a waitress to get a cup of coffee. Once waited on service was great. Had the Bistro Sandwich and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes "As seen on Beat Bobby Flay." The sandwich was very good and was $12.00. Well worth the price. The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were $17.50. If you're going to serve $17.50 for two pancakes they better be exceptional. There's a reason they lost to Bobby Flay as they are not exceptional. Good, maybe but not even close to $17.50 pancakes. Ricotta is "in the mix" and it tasted like lemon extract. They are using the fact that they were on Beat Bobby Flay and they are not worth it. Because of this we chose not to buy anything from the bakery. Although they looked good we didn't want to spend the money only to be disappointed. We visit Saratoga often but this place is a been there, done that for us. PS: The dusty box fan on the kitchen floor right next to the bathrooms is a nice added touch."
"I randomly discovered this place while passing through the area and man I’m glad I did. This place is awesome. I had the Classic BLTA and it was outstanding. The bacon and the garlic aioli really made what is normally a simple sandwich, next level. My three year old daughter had the pancake and was super pumped about the generous portion of whipped cream that came with it. I will definitely be back. I need to try the ricotta pancakes and bring home one of those delicious looking carrot cake cupcakes."
"Over the years every time I visit I've attempted to come here. 3rd time was a charm I guess. It probably helped that we came on a Monday as weekends seem almost impossible, unless you wake up and get the 1st seating. It's a tiny place with less than 12 tables. There's a few outdoor tables which look to be a new addition from pandemic days. First things first, check Google for current wait times. It's pretty accurate. It said 15mins and when I put my name down the hostess quoted us 30mins. It ended up being 20mins. You add your name and phone# to a waitlist with the hostess and come back when they text you. It's great because you can go walk around Main St or go to the Library like we did. Secondly, try to use the bathroom before you go. As mentioned it's a very small place and I witnessed a line for the restroom. Lucky for us the library had clean bathrooms for us and the kids. Literally just around the corner. Third you must order the classics such as the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the delicious cheddar home fries. They were heavenly and light with the blueberry compote. I can see why she beat Bobby Flay! Lastly be patient and you shall be rewarded! Enjoy every bite of the food. It leaves you satisfied and full but doesn't weigh you down because everything is made fresh with in season ingredients. Even the side order of fresh fruits for the kids were Summer sweet. We were treated so nice. The kids butts were too short at the bench seating so we asked if they had boosters for them, then they wanted SO MUCH ketchup for dipping their home fries and scrambled eggs. They have light roast and medium roast coffee, and I tried both. Both were delicious and went well with any meal. Refills are unlimited! Which the owner kept on top of as moms of kids run on coffee. Service and accommodations for the little ones were appreciated."
"Very busy location and small. There's not alot of seating so expect to wait a long time. I had the pancakes with bacon bits on top with their fresh whip cream. I left with bakery items and tried the poppy seed muffin."
"Please do yourself a favor and eat here!!! The food and service was amazing. I had the Saratoga sandwich and my wife has the raspberry swirl pancakes. Heavenly! Full of flavor! We also ordered the cheddar home fries for two. Between price are also good! Because you get so much food with the orders. One down side is it can feel a little crowded. Apart from that it’s a wonderful experience!"
