Reviews of Therese's African Hair Braiding
"Got my hair done 10/7/23 took the pic on 10/8 . Got alot of compliments"
"1st of all, they Dont be pulling on your edges. Prices are always fair. Saff is friendly and respectful."
"The time spent in the salon was good, my braids was small so it took some time. Just took my braids out and my hair has grown so much. Will definitely be making a trip back. At this point I don't want anyone else touching my hair."
"This place is TRASH. 1) They can only do basic box braids and box parts, and basic cornrows. If you want a new style or have a teen who wants something cool, this isn't the place for you. 2) They are highly rude and dismissive of what the customer wants or asks. 3) Theresa gave me 1 price via text and told me she had the hair. When I got there and showed her the picture in person she said she didn't have the hair. I'm new to the area, so I had to go out and search for beauty supply store and buy the hair. Then the other lady who started to do my daughter's hair was having a fit because my daughter wanted triangle parts. She was saying she couldn't do it. Theresa was trying to show her, and she was shaking her head no. My daughter said ok, she'll take box parts. 1/4 of the way into braiding, the lady said the style won't look right because of the hair. My daughter had this style before and it came out beautifully. This lady had no idea how much hair to use in the braid and how much hair got left out for the style etc. So she caught an attitude with my questions. 4) Theresa waited 5 hours later until the last braid, to tell me the price was $50 higher then she quoted me. When I asked why, she said she didn't really see the picture when I text her. I told her but her original quote included hair which she didn't even have. She had nothing to say. I told her she shouldn't have waited this long to tell a customer that. Mind u I noticed she did the same thing earlier to another customer. Waited for the lady to be completely done and told her it was more. When the lady asked why, she told her "inflation." 5) Don't be fooled by the pictures posted. The pictures is of 1 of the workers. Her hair gets braided to fool ppl, but that's not the service they pass on to customers."
"Needless to say I will never go back. Getting service at this salon was my worst experience but I will not let them stop me from going to another location and give someone else a chance. I called ahead to request a specific hair style to which they guaranteed they could do. I got it done on a Tuesday and by Thursday my hair was already unravelling. Before you question how - please consider the following: 1) I have long hair - to my shoulders length 2) I wrap my hair every night before going to bed 3) my hair was straightened before heading to the salon - so all in all, I did my best to make it last long and but the quality of work was simply put - TERRIBLE! The individuals at the salon have no regard for customer's comfort and thus no manners. Addition to the fact that the place is not cleaned (I visited during COVID - so I think it's even worse now). Did I mention that they don't wear facemask themselves but have a sign require you to wear one. They talk about their customers in another language but don't even consider the possibility someone may understand them - which is sad. It took every bone in my body to not get up and walk out from all the inappropriate talking they did about another customer. As my service was under an hour thanks to God - I didn't have to endure it for long; I just know I will not be bringing my business back to them. so to recap: the place is not clean, the stylist (at least the person who did my hair) had no idea what they were doing, the service overall was poor and last but not least, they are disrespectful to their customers and in turn themselves. Best of luck to you if you want to give them a try but I don't recommend this location."
