"I recently visited Dr. Austin for the second time for physical and questions about some specific topics which we discussed my first visit with her about a year ago. As someone who cares deeply about my overall health and well-being, I had several basic and general questions which are appropriate to ask during a physical. To most of which Dr. Austin admitted she either didn't know much about or had no knowledge of the subject. As she is an internal medicine Doctor, I found this alarming as I am left under the impression that she flat out didn't know or just felt complete apathy toward these basic/general questions. She admitted that maybe she would recommend an obscure prescription medication (for which purpose of recommendation was not clearly communicated) which came without ANY side-effects whatsoever ever. This was alarming to me as well because we all know that every medication comes with some label of basics like "headache, nausea, etc.". And then I asked her to elaborate on it further and she stated she "doesnt know much about it".. ..So why even bring it up? It appears her method of operation is to type words into a computer and make an uneducated recommendation if she has any recommendation at all. At the time of our appointment we performed some basic blood work that's typical for an annual physical but no-one mentioned how and when I'll hear back from them. This was a week ago so today I have called all morning trying to get someone at the front desk to help. They are currently open but after letting the Automated Hold Jingle play for over 90 minutes I had to hang up. This is also concerning since this is the same number patients call to schedule appointments, etc. Overall, I am not sure I have received any real benefits or care by electing this medical practice or Dr. Austin in general. I suppose I will seek out different medical care for my very basic needs. Imagine if I was dealing with something more serious! ***UPDATE: After calling and waiting for someone to answer on this day ( an accumulated TWO AND A HALF HOURS) I finally connected with Dr. Austin's medical assistant. She informed me the labs were in and that there was indeed nobody tasked or assigned to follow up with me. When I asked her how this could be acceptable her response was meekly "I guess just a sign of the times." Really??? Take my money and 5 viles of blood to provide me with nothing more. I repeatedly asked her to intervene for better outcome in which she stated the brand new office manager who is not qualified to discuss labs will call me back. I then insisted to speak with someone who was an actual medical professional and then she said in a whisper like voice that she PROMISED that MAYBE the office manager or Dr. Austin would call me the same day. No such call arrived. I called again after hours and spoke to a nurse based out of Chapel Hill, who admittedly is the first real professional I have encountered within the organization and she insisted the treatment I have received was inappropriate and uncalled for and apologized profusely for the experience.I noticed the organization's response to this original review and have called and left a voicemail So far, NO BODY is working to contact me directly and resolve the matter. To all patients and consumers, I encourage you to stay away from this practice entirely and immediately."

"I have been seeing Dr. Austin for just under a year and have been very happy. I feel like she listens to any concerns I have and always puts a plan in place. She has always been timely with my appointments as well which is a huge plus."

"Dr.Austin and Dr.Hill were exceptionally over accommodating ,which is always wonderful when yourself or loved ones are sick and not feeling well.We have 3 generations that have followed these Drs from Vista Family Health.Please keep up the great bed side mannerisms and the one on one health care touch!?!!?!"

She takes time to listen/talk through all of my concerns every time I visit. Honestly one of the best PCP experiences I've ever had. Highly recommend!"

"This review is about the office staff. I had an appointment on Thursday, April 13, 2023. I even confirmed via text messages two days prior. I arrived 20 minutes early to fill out paperwork. The office staff could not find my appointment. Then the staff proceeds to tell me it had been cancelled and the Doctor was in a meeting. I was never called, texted or informed my appointment was canceled. There was no apology or offer of what to do next. Not even an offer of rescheduling. I will not be returning to this office! I have tried to reach you about this review. I have left messages and have not received a call back. I really think you need to working your customers service."
