"I have been a weekly patron at this nail salon for over 8 years. It is very clean and relaxing. There is at least 6 ft between you and other clients which I love. All the nail technicians are friendly and detail-oriented (they check and recheck your nails and adjust/clean up a stray cuticle or tiny polish error throughout your manicure). Tip: If you go on a Friday or Saturday make an appointment and be prepared for about a 5-15 minute wait."

"I have been going here for years for pedicures and it was fine. But I went for a gel set last March for my daughter’s wedding for the first (and last) time in my life. They looked nice but after a week both index finger nails came off. I returned to get them all taken off. The technician (I think she is the owner with her husband) sat me down and without any soaking, cut and pulled them off with the nail scissors. She was very rough, it was very uncomfortable and when she was done my nails were wrecked. But the worst part was that my fingertips were incredibly sore for weeks. After a week I returned and showed the owner—the white tips of each nail spread down half my nail—and told him what happened. He shrugged. HIs wife was not there that day. The soreness gradually got better, but it lasted for weeks and it was 5 months before my nails looked the way they did before this happened. They lost a long-term customer—I will never go back there."

"Lavender Tips is your typical LI nail salon. It is clean, the technicians are nice. The prices are a little on the high end but the work quality is very good. Manicures all come with a paraffin wax hand treatment. My favorite service is the spa pedicure - mint or lavender are great! My only dislike is that they are not open on Sundays."
