"My experience with this dentist was unfortunately, terrible to say the least! The fact that there are only 3 employees (including him), and he’s the one that does the dental cleaning, should have been a red flag. Also the fact that he offered to do veneers for $700 a piece! He said I have very clean teeth, but there were 3 recessions that needed to be fixed. He added the filings without any local anesthesia, just using some sort of a laser, which was like adding the filing on almost the entire tooth! This made my 3 teeth thicker and made my night guards very tight! He got me waiting 1 1/2 hours before seeing me, and during the process he was rough, no delicacy whatsoever, stretching my lips to the point I thought he’ll ripped them apart. One of the filling broke a couple of days later. Went back to fix it, and at night the piece of filling came off again, and went again. I called my insurance to complain, and found out they have submitted a claim for 5 teeth, when they actually worked on 3. The insurance dealt with them so I can see another dentist and have the service covered. After 3 times, I didn’t dare to give him another chance. Very disappointing!"
"Dr. Siavash Kiumehr is fantastic! I have been a client for many years and highly recommend him to anybody looking for dental care in NYC! Siavash cares so much, explains the problem and the workflow to solution and he is as professional as can be. Highly recommended"
"Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. I came in for a tooth filling on both bottom sides of my mouth. Initially I felt good when I arrived and there wasn’t a long wait time but things quickly turned left. The water constantly spraying me in the face was annoying but it wasn’t the end of the world for me. But the last half of the session is what really soured the visit completely. I told Dr. Kiumehr the filling on the left side was too high, instead of working to level the left side to match the right side he worked on both. Of course this lead the unevenness to continue so I told him again the left did not match the right. He went back and again proceeded to work on BOTH sides. At this point it was ridiculous. It was almost like he was doing it on purpose. And after he kept the drill on one spot too long and caused a sharp pain I said to hell with it and was ready to just get out of there. I was left in constant dread to eat because of the sensitivity where he left the drill too long and the uneven bite. A tooth at the top which is hurting now too. I’ve never had any issue to this extent with my teeth before this dentist. I had to make a emergency appointment with another different dentist. UPDATE: I see their office responded saying I refused anesthesia and needed to be sent to a facility for “special needs” patients. Let me give further details to show the full picture of why I said I don’t recommend your office. First off, this is not my first rodeo with a cavity filling so I understand how they’re done and I know how I should feel afterward. For the very minor cavities I had it did not require heavy anesthesia so yes I declined it. The previous dentist I had didn’t perform anesthesia on me and Dr. kiumehr said himself I shouldn’t need it since neither cavity on each side were deep. The doctor shouldn’t have tried to adjust my bite any further after I told him it was leveled. The problem was the dentist’s inability to listen which lead to overaggressiveness. If I am saying one side is only bothering me but as you just admitted you go with your opinion both sides needing adjustments you aren’t listening to the patient. I didn’t have pain during the actual drilling or as you say “reconstruction” of the cavities therefore not administering anesthesia wasn’t the issue. The anesthesia would’ve only temporarily masked the pain of your aggressiveness but regardless it was still aggressive, leading you to over file one side to the point of me feeling a sharp pain from the drill which is unacceptable."
"Thank goodness I found this dentist! I had a filling crack twice and he fixed my problem and no issues since!! He takes his time and is so thorough which I love, so I felt extremely comfortable. I even went back to change 3 other old fillings. I am hooked and only trust this dentist with my teeth. I even sent my mom there who has some dental concerns and she was so impressed. It’s so hard these days to find a dentist you trust and who takes most insurances too!!"
