Reviews of Goldman Orthodontic Arts
"Please be cautious of any surgery recommendation from this doctor. Took my 14 year old in for an assessment and he recommended gum surgery and scoring the bone, when the three other orthodontists I took her to said nothing of the sort -- they all recommended a palate expander. "Distraction osteogenesis surgically assisted expansion" is what my notes from the visit say he recommended, and he referred us to a surgeon in Stamford. Needless to say we went with one of the orthodontists that recommended a palate expander. A year later: the palate expander worked great, opening up lots of space for her teeth, and she has braces."
"All my daughters have now gone through Dr.Goldmans care and have great teeth and smiles. He is kind, attentive, and always makes sure that my daughter's are well taken care of. His staff and nurses are always so helpful and a great team. I couldn’t recommend him enough and we are very pleased with his work."
"I have a malocclusion problem and decided to get a consultation with Dr. Goldman because he treated a teen family member, and the overall experience they had with Dr. Goldman’s practice and staff was good. Unfortunately, I must say I am terribly disappointed about my experience during the consultation process with Dr. Goldman and his staff. First of all, they charged me the absurd amount of $625 for ‘records’, which is basically X-Rays and an intraoral scanning. I was also told the fee included the orthodontic evaluation to decide the right treatment for me. I went for it, given my family member’s previous experience and Dr. Goldman’s reputation. Having paid such amount of money, I expected the evaluation would be something of superior quality, but after almost a whole month, the results of such evaluation were quite disappointing. In terms of deliverables, the situation was even more disappointing. After the consultation to discuss the results, I walked out the office carrying only a sheet of paper with a picture of someone else’s mouth on it, displaying a temporary anchorage device. First, I was told jaw surgery is recommended in cases like mine. Then, I was told an alternative would be using temporary anchorage devices (TADs) along with braces, and that I would have to see an oral surgeon to get the TADs placed. Two weeks later, and after repeated calls on my end, I was finally told that an Invisalign treatment would be sufficient, with a length of 8 to 10 months. My treatment plan went from a complex jaw surgery to 10 months of Invisalign. Basically, I was charged $625 to be told that Invisalign would be enough. It just doesn’t make sense! During the whole process, the staff wasn’t quite accessible, they wouldn’t return my calls in a timely manner and they always seemed to be in a rush and making lame and unprofessional excuses (all except the technician who took the X-Rays and intraoral scanning, she was friendly and professional). My impression is that they just didn’t know what to do with my case. I deeply regret not having researched more about other practices, there are several talented and even board certified orthodontists, and they won’t charge this outrageous amount for ‘records’. So please be aware of this situation, those $625 can be part of your down payment for your orthodontic treatment somewhere else. And if you don’t have a referring family member, Dr. Goldman will charge an additional $140 fee for the initial consultation. Hard lesson learned!"
"I have been a patient of Dr. Goldman's for years and have always had a great experience. All staff members are highly qualified, very friendly and a pleasure to be around. The quality of care I received here has been exceptional and they truly get to know you as a patient and make you feel welcomed."
"My three kids saw Dr. Goldman for several years. Everyone in the office is so nice and professional. They went out of their way to make my oldest comfortable when she was afraid and not cooperative, and they provided good updates on the kids’ progress and compliance (or not) with office instructions. Dr. Goldman knows what he is doing and the results for all of my kids were great."
