Reviews of Todd Wortman, DDS
"12 years ago, Dr. Wortman was tasked with putting 2 crowns on my back top molars (both sides) that each had root canals (luckily from another dentist that knew what they were doing). He was extremely rude, but I put that aside since I assumed he knew what he was doing. This man has single-handedly led to $1000's of further dental surgery and procedures because of his negligence. 1) On one of the crowns, HE LEFT COTTON INSIDE THE CROWN THAT HE PUT ON, leading me to get a massive infection down the line and needing to entirely redo my root canal. 2) He tried to submit an insurance claim for gold crowns, rather than the standard porcelain. I don't know why he would do this, other than complete obliviousness or attempt to commit fraud. At the time, this delayed my crowns for an extra 1-2 weeks. 3) He did a filling on the tooth next to one of the crowns, but FAILED TO CLEAN IT PROPERLY BEFOREHAND, leading me to have further issues down the line and eventually needing a crown on that tooth! 4) On one of the crowns, he didn't do it properly and it resulted in an overhang which to this day can catch food particles forcing me to floss daily. Avoid this man at all costs."
"Dr. Wortman is the worst dentist I’ve ever been to. He does not care about your teeth but about money. I used to be his patient from 2011 - 2014. Because of him I have a phobia of visiting dentists for the rest of my life. This dentist did some unnecessary procedures on me and I believe was because of insurance money. He does not explain to you what he’s going to do on your teeth. He drilled all for the corners of my teeth (all the molars and premolars) and replaced it with amalgam fillings. Only discovered this one morning when I was brushing my teeth. When I asked him on my next visit he said it was to “protect my teeth” from future cavities. Areas I ddn’t have any cavities?!! I will never forget when I visited for sensitivity reasons, he kept injecting me to numb me but I felt pain so I jerked during one of the injections and place my hand on my mouth as a reflex. Dr Wortman rudely told me “Will you allow me to do my job!” I was already a timid and shy person at that time so all I did was listen in pain and as he kept injecting, tears ran down my cheeks. The fact that I can remember this should tell you how this experience hurt me. Later I called for my dental records, the receptionist tells me it will cost $20 per page. Smh I’ve had to live with this for the rest trauma for the rest of my life. I hope you see this Dr. Wortman. I know this was some years ago but I just hope you’ve changed and are being a better dentist to other patients! You may not remember me, just know your actions leave marks in the lives of people you treat. So DO BETTER! I was younger then but my mistake was trusting him blindly because I believed doctors, and oh “Americans doctors” knew what they are doing and were one of the best. On my visits I wouldn’t ask to questions, just talk about my sensitivity pain and he would do some work on me. Not saying all dentists are bad but please, don’t be like younger me ask questions and do your research as well. Because some dentists just don’t care. Thanks"
"I have now been to Dr. Wortman's office a total of 4 times. The doctor and his assistant are mostly stand offish. There is an attempt to feign being pleasant but they lack concern. The last time I was there, I was having a chipped crown assessed. The assistant had air on a sensitive part of my mouth, which I brought to their attention, but neither of them seemed to care about my pain. Dr. Wortman stated that he would reach out to my insurance company for crown replacement. We are now going on week 5, this Wednesday, with not one communication initiated by the office. I have called the office 3 times looking for an update. First Communication: 1 week after original appointment. I was told it takes up to 3 weeks to hear back from insurance. Second Communication: last week Tuesday (one day shy of 4 weeks from original appt.) I was told the insurance company hadn't gotten back. The receptionist informed me that she would reach out to the insurance company and give me a call back Third Communication: Today (2 days shy of 5 weeks from original appt.) Receptionist tells me they are still waiting to hear from the insurance company. I let her know that I spoke to someone last week and was waiting to hear an update. Did anyone reach out to the insurance company? Which she responds, she doesn't know. After going back and forth and me asking probing questions, I finally receive "another request for approval was sent to insurance on July 11th." I then ask to speak to the Office Manager. After explaining the timeline yet again, expressing my frustrations and asking questions; she tells me that the insurance company needed more information and the doctor sent it out for reapproval. I asked if this was routine to have a patient call multiple times to receive information, especially after being told I would receive a call back. She stated no. I asked her if it is reasonable? She circumvented the question. Not one person has apologized. I've been to quite a few dentist offices in my life and this is by far the worst experience. I really wanted this to work out, but it isn't. Looking for a new dentist today. :-("
"I don’t write reviews. But this experience was the worst I’ve ever had by far. I didn’t see Dr WORTMAN. I saw his partner. Not sure her name. She gave me a cleaning that lasted maybe 30-40 seconds. No floss, no polish. She barley touched my teeth. Then came xrays. Then came the exam. Which lasted even less time! Never touching my teeth. Exam lasted seconds. I knew this place was a joke but I figured let me just see what they say. Called me later that to tell me results of X-ray. She said I needed 2 root canals. Girls informed me it took up to 2 weeks to get approval from my insurance and that they would call me when approved. After 2 1/2 weeks I called. They said it takes up to 5 weeks now and still no answer. After 5 1/2 weeks I called back. They told me call my insurance. Turns out they approved it the next day! The dentist office never called me. I could have waited months. Just never bothered to call me. This place is the worst dentist or doctors office for that matter I’ve ever been to you. I’m surprised it even has 2 stars. Do yourself a favor and go to anybody else. Can’t be worse the. This place."
