"This place discriminates against those who don't have "private health insurance". So basically if you're not wealthy, they will not so much as talk to you or schedule you an appointment. They claim to be "fazing out of Healthplex" which is a fancy way of saying they are discriminating against those who have MEDICAID. Not every employer offers private insurance or pays enough to go and get private insurance else where. This is discriminatory, and they should be ashamed. Funny they were perfectly fine with using medical/health plex to build themselves a good revenue , and now they suddenly want to act uppity. Very rude."
"I go to the Gates location and I'm surprised to say, I don't mind going to the dentist anymore! Dr. Somerville is my favorite dentist ever, hands down. He's kind, gentle, and non-judgmental. Doriana at the desk is always helpful and they've been very accommodating. Even more, you don't have to wait forever for an appointment. I highly recommend Flower City Gates Dental!"
"Terrible experience at Flower City Dental. I made an appointment for some swelling, my insurance was not accepted (I was never informed they no longer accepted my insurance) so I had to pay out of pocket. I get there and am brought back rather quickly. I then have X-rays done. After that I have to sit and wait for 45 minutes for the dentist to examine my swelling. I was very understanding about this. My frustration come from the dentist spending less than a minute looking into my concerns. She literally spent less than 3 minutes with me and didn’t provide any information/advice/help about my issue. I complained while I was there and was further dismissed. I waited for 45 minutes and paid out of pocket to be totally dismissed. Terrible bedside manner. Go somewhere else."
"My last experience with this location began with a call to their receptionist. I was receiving numerous texts and robo-call reminders regarding an upcoming appointment. I explained that as a professional, I cannot continue having my phone inundated with notifications of which I already have a note and reminder in my calendar for. The receptionist was snarky and told me that there's nothing they can do. When I asked for her name, and for the issue to be escalated, she hung up on me. I called a second time, and she hung up again. I called back several hours later and spoke to a practice manager who was more sympathetic to her disrespectful employee, than to the concern that as clients, we are not 12 years-old and in need of literally 10-15 reminders within a few days prior to our appointment. This isn't the first poor customer experience I've had here. About a year ago, they were putting a filling in a tooth, and cracked the tooth, causing me to have a crown put on. They then tried charging me for their admitted error. I had to spend several hours on the phone between them and my insurance provider in order to resolve this. If considering this location, reconsider and save yourself a potential headache and inefficient use of time and resources."
