"What a shame, the customer service of the ladybin the front is horrible. I was told if I don't like it go somewhere else as if we don't have any options. I feel sorry for Dr Ernan he is a wonderful man, polite, friendly and professional but the women there are so uneducated it's sad DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING THERE."
"The doctor himself was perfectly nice and capable and willing to help. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for his entire team. I will not be returning. After months of waiting to get an appointment, one of his assistants showed a completely lack of empathy and honesty in her work. She lied to the doctor and to myself about where she placed the numbing gel for my procedure, and the doctor proceeded to put the novacane needle in an area which was not numbed. After advocating for myself and in tears and pain you would think they would have been able to come up with an honest and empathetic answer as to why this happened. But no. The assistant relentlessly stated that she did put the numbing gel there. I was present and awake while she lied to my face and why would I ever trust them to sedate me which they further insisted on doing. I left in tears and in pain and shame on this woman who couldn't take enough pride in her work and herself to be honest and empathetic toward a clearly fragile and upset patient. Find a different job"
"We have been going here for a couple years now and have had positive experiences each time. Routine cleanings are pretty fast and the hygienist and dentist are both very friendly and accommodating. We hope this office remains in our dental insurance network for years to come."
"This is worth the read for any new or lasting patients of Honeoye Family Dental. Upon arrival on my first visit, I was recommended braces or an Invisalign. I have never been told I need anything of the sort. I have exceptionally straight teeth for someone who has never had braces. I was discouraged from the beginning and quite frankly, I felt uncomfortable. Shortly after, ex-rays were taken and I was promptly told that I need three root canals, three crowns, and two cavities filled. I was not shown the images nor was I told where I needed work done. I was given the general area where the dental work was "needed." He proceeded to tell me that my insurance would not cover the root canals and that it would cost me $2,000 per tooth. I asked if I could at least schedule the cavity fillings so that those would not also turn into cavities and Dr. Aharon Ernan told me that he could not and would not fill the cavities until I had the three root canals done. This was concerning, if I leave the two cavities to sit, then what if they also turn into needing root canals? Dr. Aharon Ernan created urgency warning me that If I did not get the root canals done as soon as possible, he would have to pull the teeth. He said things like, "you have a nice smile, it would be shame if we had to pull those teeth." He also created a lot of fear asking me questions and making statements as the following: "Do your teeth hurt yet? Because they are going to really start hurting! You must get those root canals done quickly." I called back the next day and politely asked the secretary if she could schedule my cavity fillings because I was scared that $6,000 dollars in root canal work was going to turn into $10,000. I explained to her that Dr. Ernan had refused to schedule me for cavity fillings until after the root canals and crowns were done. The lady was kind enough to schedule this for me, but she requested that I do not share with the doctor that she had gone behind his back to schedule me. I went to for the cavity fillings, where Dr. Ernan continually warned me that my teeth were going to start feeling very painful and that the nerve was completely dead. He asked me again to schedule my root canals or the teeth would have to be pulled. I later on found out, that the doctor filled a cavity without clearing an obstruction next to it, which prevents me from flossing proficiently. I feel that was intentional. While in incessant contact with my insurance company, I decided to go for a second opinion. There I was shown my ex-rays, and they explained to me that I did not need a SINGLE root canal in very specific detail. They showed me where Dr. Ernan had failed to remove a most obvious obstruction, and had failed me as an oral health provider I am very disappointed in Honeoye Family Dental Practice. I believe this to be a case of unethical conduct and malpractice. I am a young woman and I believe they took advantage of that by using unethical, fear based tactics to scare me into spending almost $6,000 on dental work that I do NOT need in the slightest. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. This abuse of patient care is egregious, and I did not feel that this office cared for my overall health, but were only after my money. It is to my understanding, when you enter a new healthcare office they are made aware of everything your insurance will and will not cover. All basic dental work (cavities, cleanings, etc.) are taken care of, and I do believe that this office was well in the know that root canals and crowns were not covered. I am grateful that I do not need a single one and I will be moving on from this dental practice. Be safe out there!"
"Dr Ernan was very patient and thorough. He explained what he was seeing with each tooth and was pleasant to talk to. The office is clean and quiet. A lot of the poor reviews are from people who cancelled an appointment without enough notice. They make it very clear that they have a strict cancellation policy. You sign a paper saying you understand that policy. All you need to do is give a 48 hour notice, and confirm your appointment when they call you. I would understand if they dropped me as a client after missing an appointment and wasting their time."
