"I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Maggio as he was overseeing students at the UB dental school when I had an appointment. He was incredible! I love the program there as you get such personalized care as well as the expert opinion of renowned practitioners like Dr. Maggio. The only problem is sometimes you get conflicting information which is what I had come across. My initial orientation took into account the condition of my teeth as well as other health issues and questioned jumping to root canals yet the next time I went the doctor who looked over my student wanted root canals for everything. Fortunately, when I was getting some filling work Dr. Maggio was there to take a look and direct the student working on me where to start. He immediately pointed out two teeth which had already been schedule for root canals and explained to me there was another option we could try if I was comfortable and how he tends to be "conservative" when moving to root canals. I was elated! He did warn there was a chance it might not work, including that once they began to drill things might be worse than expected. Thanks to Dr. Maggio, I had a pulp capping and already that tooth feels 110% better!! I've always had sensitive teeth and now it's the one tooth that isn't sensitive! It's a two step procedure so hopefully in a few months the procedure takes but no matter what I am eternally grateful for Dr. Maggio's ethics and listening to me as a patient and not jumping into the most invasive (and expensive) procedure out there. I will continue recommending the dental school but if someone is looking for a private practice for their dental care please take my advice and go see Dr. Maggio!"
