"If I could give a rating of NO stars I would! Used this company for completing 2 years of federal tax returns based upon the recommendation of another CPA. Roland although seemed friendly and knowledgeable when I met him was in truth a complete jerk. He talked down to me...acted as though I was stupid. His attitude grew worse each year...extremely condescending. I played a ridiculous amount of taxes the first year I used him. "You had very unusual circumstances this year." (I took $ out of an optional retirement fund...AND paid 20% in taxes on the taxable amount before receiving the $.) When I questioned further, he became quite huffy, "Well! You didn't pay taxes on your Social Security!" I had never paid taxes on SS b/c I had enough in taxes taken out of another income to cover the income. "You missed being able to take a medical deductible by $100." AND WHAT WAS EVEN WORSE, HE CHARGED ME WELL OVER DOUBLE WHAT HE SAID HIS FEE WOULD BE!" The next year, although I paid quarterly estimated taxes that he calculated and ASSURED me would be sufficient, I owed the IRS almost $3,000 in April and had to pay a penalty, and then an estimated payment in June. I also had damage to my home in excess of $15,000 in 2015 due to a main line water break. He only counted a portion of the cost insisting part of it was a home improvement even though I said it had to be done because water continued to come into my basement. He disagreed. " Well, we could deduct everything!" He spoke in a snide tone, and he was not referring to just the home repair.." AND gave me a condescending glare. He keep stating, "You're in the 25% tax bracket". Well I knew that, but I also know you don't pay 25% on your entire income. I had with holding done on a portion of my income, and part it, I had already paid not taxable income! I questioned him repeatedly regarding the next year's estimated quarterly tax payments at our April mtg and STRESSED my income had increased. I even asked if i needed to increase my with holding on another income. He assured me I did not, and said his calculated estimated quarterly tax payments were sufficent. I worried and worried the payments were insufficent, I called the office in late September. The office staff refused to let me talk with him. " Oh, he said to just pay another $3000.00...in addition to his calculated 3rd & 4th estimated quarterly tax payments. And once again, he charged well over his quoted charge for my tax preparation. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UUNLESS YOURE PREPARED TO BE LIED TO , AND BE STUCK WITH BIG UNEXPECTED PAYMENTS TO THE US TREASURY BECAUSE HE FAILED TO DO HIS WORK CORRECTLY."
