"This place is more or less a lack luster low budget bbq place with high prices. The brisket was like pot roast. The hush puppies were half cooked and had corn in them. The customer service is nothing to brag about. Save your money and don't waste your time here."

"Great location with access from both North and Southbound US 421 and North and Southbound Country Club Road by using Jonestown Road. Restaurant is a little hard to find the first time. Employees were all cheerful, courteous, friendly and smiling and helpful by telling about the daily lunch specials that are not on the menu. Order and pay at the front counter and they bring your food to the table. I am partial to the smoked sausage, brisket and chicken."

"Was really looking forward to having the best brisket in Winston, but unfortunately was let down. The search continues. The wings were the best thing we got which Sam was kind enough to let us try. The brisket was OK, not good or bad, but instead average. Somewhat dry texture even though we asked for fatty side of the brisket ( the point). BBQ pork was the same way, no smoke ring and dry without sauce. I didn't enjoy the sauce selection."

"If I could give them 4.5 stars, I would. The services was very good, and super friendly! The bbq meat was very good, and super tender! They had a good selection of sauces to choose from (it had it's own table!). So, where do they lose 1/2 a star? The Mac and Cheese. I'm a HUGE fan of Mac and Cheese, and I normally order it everywhere I go, especially bbq places. However, after a bite or two of Honky Tonk Smokehouse's Mac and Cheese, I couldn't eat any more. Something was... off. When one of the employees came to check on the food, I asked about the Mac and Cheese. They informed me that one of the "cheeses" in the 3 Cheese Mac and Cheese was.... COTTAGE CHEESE!!! Who puts cottage cheese in mac and cheese?!?!?! I personally can't stand cottage cheese, and I've never been to a place that has it in their mac and cheese. That might be Honky Tonk's thing, and if so that is fine. Everyone has their own tastes, and places like to make things "their own". That's why I would have only taken away a 1/2 star. Since I can't, I'm still giving them the full 5 stars. Nothing was -wrong-, just unusual and not to MY taste. I WOULD eat here again, but I wouldn't get the Mac and Cheese."
