"My daughter was a client of Jessie's for about 6 months, weekly in 2020. We came in because my daughter was having some meltdowns that would last for hours, accompanied by aggressive behaviors. We were super desperate for some help, and also knew there was stuff we could do as parents to assist our child, and we're 100% willing to do that. We had several parent sessions with Jessie, in addition to bringing our daughter in every week. At one point, I called Jessie while my daughter was melting down, to get some real time help as to what I should or should not be doing. She heard my daughters behavior, and told me that she was one of the most severe cases she had worked with. She advocated restraining our child during these meltdowns, and basically told us to pick a strategy, any strategy, and do it for 3 months consistently. We are consistent parents in general, we just felt in over our heads. In our struggles, I began researching into nerodivergence, and started looking into ADHD, and possibly autism. I have a friend who is an ADHD therapist to ADHD children, and she told me that medication for this can often help kids who have this to regulate more and feel better. I brought some of this information to Jessie in a session, and she dismissed me outright. She told me no one would ever medicate a 5 year old (which is explicitly not true, it happens all the time), and made me feel like it was our parenting that was the problem, not our child. She told me that my child wasn't bad enough to warrant any medication, and said she didn't want to work with us anymore if that's the direction we wanted to go. I left the office in tears, and felt a lack of compassion or understanding from her. It has been 3 years since I have seen Jessie, but the callousness with which she dismissed us and our daughter has stayed with me. We just received an autism and ADHD combined type diagnosis for our daughter this month. ***If you suspect any neurodivergency in your child, do not go to this practice.** They are not equipped to look for it, and don't understand the behaviors that can manifest because of it. Based on our knowledge of ADHD and autism, we are now doing better parenting, and our daughter is doing much better because of it, but that is in spite of getting absolutely NO HELP from Jessie Napoli. P.S. I do frequently check the website for this practice, and it seems there is a revolving door of staff. It doesn't seem like a stable work environment, and I imagine it's directly because of the leadership. Edit in response to owner: Jessie knew we were terminating therapy, as it was instigated by her in response to me asking about her thoughts on medication for ADHD. We did have a conversation about it. I am aware the practice does not do evaluations or prescribe medication, and I never expected this. But her response to me even bringing it up was met with disdain, and nastiness. It would have been helpful if she had pointed me somewhere we could get an evaluation, or helped me notice the signs, or pointed out other tools we could use to help that were not medication, but none of these happened. I understand that everyone is not an expert on everything, but when youre dealing with behaviors like we were, a therapist should be looking at any underlying causes rather than just blaming it on the parents. Jessie ended therapy because I brought up medicating my child for a condition I suspected (and was correct) she had, and I ended up doing all research into ADHD and autism on my own, with no support from a therapist. Also, the comment that ABA therapy is recommended for autism shows her ignorance in that area as well. Federally, ABA is not allowed in schools, and is widely regarded by autistic adults who went through it go be incredibly abusive, teaching the child to change their behavior to seem more "typical". I will again reiterate that if you're having issues with your child that seem like more than typical struggles, this practice does not care about helping you find the root cause and getting you to the help that you need."
"I absolutely love working here and highly recommend. As a college student, I was looking to have a psychology internship, and couldn’t be more happy to be working at emerge. Very professional, relaxing environment, personable clinicians, and overall highly skilled facility. If I was seeking therapy, I would definitely feel comfortable and satisfied here."
"I work as an intake specialist here at Emerge! I love the atmosphere here, it's so relaxing and welcoming for clients and clinicians. The clinicians are friendly and I enjoy conversations with them daily! We value a collaborative team and that's exactly what it is like here, we are like family. I also love getting to talk to the clients and families as well, they are a pleasure to have here with us!"
"Fleet Graphics had the pleasure of working with Emerge to update their logo, create marketing material and install signage. They are a great client and we look forward to working with them in the future."
"I would give this facility no stars!!! I normally don't advocate for myself but I am now. I was seeing a therapist there (paying out of pocket b/c its not under my insurance. ) I called to cancel an appointment a day and some hours before my appointment date/time. I called at 3:10 and my appointment was at 6:15 the following day. I still had to pay $95.00 b/c I did not cancel 2 days ahead. Not to mention the receptionist hung up on me while I was talking to her. The owner ( Jessie) was insensitive and a didn't care. How can you have a 2 day cancelation fee. LIFE HAPPENS and you don't know. I had some gastro issues and called as soon as I could. I do not recommend this center to anyone. Mental health services are really needed and its hard to trust just anyone and when you have a place like this that all they care about is money its worthless. I lost faith in getting help for my issues just because of this incident. Stay away!!"
