Reviews of The West End Pittsboro
"Excellent spot for brunch. The menu, while small, has a lot of variety and really unique dishes. I had the biscuits and gravy bites, which are just a bite of biscuit with sausage on top, and have a bowl of gravy for dipping. Nice little appetizer, and the gravy was great.i had the Maine lobster omelet for my entree, and it did not disappoint. (It comes with caviar, but I opted out for that). The lobster was nice and fresh. The eggs were so soft and fluffy, and I don't know what kind of creme was on top, but it paired really well with everything. For dessert I had the espresso pot de creme, which is just an espresso style pudding with fresh whipped cream and chocolate shavings on top. Delicious. Rich, but not over powering, and the crunch of the chocolate shavings was a nice touch. I will definitely be back"
"They were very accommodating to make an egg version of their sausage and biscuit sandwich. The eggs came as a generous folded omelette sitting between the oversize rectangular biscuit were light and fluffy not overly cooked or undercooked. Just a slight brown on the edges that I like. The coffee is very good. My wife had the salad and it was near the top of her salad experience with very fresh ingredients—which are essential for a good salad. We shared the waffle hash browns. They had good flavor. My son had French fries and an English muffin. The fries had good flavor but were a little soggy by the time I tried them. The atmosphere is pleasant and attractive."
"Really cute atmosphere. A perfect place to chill with a friend and grab a bite to eat. I had the avocado toast, which was nothing special-whole wheat toast, avocado, feta and egg. I was a little surprised at the price, but I guess I was paying for the atmosphere. My friend got the egg biscuit, which was a good size. The problem is the service. We order at the counter, and are given two glasses for coffee. The single person comes over to put us a cup of coffee, which tasted old and bitter, and we never see her again. I don’t know about other people, but I certainly need more than one small glass of coffee. I ended up getting up and refilling my friend’s cup as well as my own. My recommendation is that if you don’t have staff for the dining room, then invest in small thermoses for the coffee to leave on the table. Also, taste the coffee before pouring for customers. We asked the ladies at the table next to us about their coffee and they agreed that it tasted funny."
"Absolutely incredible! I have been twice for brunch now and each experience is better than the last! The food is incredible, the staff are attentive, and the whole vibes of the restaurant are on point! You walk into a mini mercantile that offers locally sourced goodies from chips to coffee to bars of chocolate. Then you make your way up to the counter and order what you want! They give you a number and you find yourself a table. The food comes out fresh and hot! Things I've had so far: George Clooney Gotta Burrata - incredible! Sourdough bread topped with prosciutto, Burrata, house made jam, and frozen shaved tomato. It's perfection. The Sawmill - I hate gross but this has converted me. Pimento cheese grits, poached eggs, and a hollandaise. It warms the soul! Pimento cheese fritters - what can I say? It's so fried pimento cheese. It's heavenly. Lobster beignets - not my favorite but still worth a try! It was a texture thing for me but the flavor was still on point! Pretzel Bread Pudding - great flavor, not overly sweet. Perfect way to end a brunch! Turkish Eggs - 100% yes! Poached eggs spiced up and served with naan bread. 10/10 recommend! I promise this restaurant is worth the trip! I'll definitely be coming back!"
